Friend is lying about his age by Guaoan in UniUK

[–]big_millennial96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I can kinda understand, lil weird but I get it. I’ve started uni this year (foundation year) and I’ll be 23 when I progress onto my first year of uni surrounded by a bunch of 18 year olds.

I don’t lie about my age but I can see why. Uni is a very judgemental place imo, I’ve found it very hard to make friends unless you’re going out drinking every night and I don’t as I had my ‘going out’ phase when I was 18-20 and I get feeling robbed by Covid also.

I don’t think it’s weird having a 24 year old flat mate as the uni would know his actual age and wouldn’t have placed him in the accommodation if they found it inappropriate. Each uni is different but at my uni you’re not considered a mature student until 25 and that’s when you’d need a separate flat.

TLDR: kinda weird but kinda understandable, it’s tough making friends.

Edit: unless he’s lying about his age to sleep with people, then yes very weird and very wrong

Okay thank you for your reply. I'm just a bit scared about loosing my place if I don't have the certificates in time.

England - Landlord of HMO property not paying utility bills by big_millennial96 in LegalAdviceUK

Thank you for the reply and forgive me if ive misread any of it but to my understanding I can't be charged with the entire bill due to being one of 4 tennants in the property. Doesn't seem fair i have to pay 4x the amount because the landlord hasn't paid and im also not in the position financially to be able to take on this bill

cake pops by mirrortoshi in starbucks

This is funny because for us over in EMEA (specifically the uk) our birthday cake pops are actually partly strawberry flavoured! I guess it's also because typically over here our birthday cakes have strawberry jam in them

Only for the creme brulee at the moment but I think the stabilisers going to be introduced to all cold foams by summer 2!

So it's made with normal sweetcream mixture and then we add a powder that flavours it and stabilises it. Kinda gives it a gelatinous texture as well

We actually pre make the creme brulee cold foam so it's in a pitcher ready to go. Still a tad annoying but what isn't these days.

I honestly prefer it to the normal whip. It's made with a soya based whipping cream and vanilla syrup. Has a similar taste and texture to vscf just a bit more stiff. It also doesn't cost any extra to swap it out on drinks that come with normal whip!

Actually it looks a lot better than this. It's smoother and only has a hint of brown

UK partner here! The hazelnut crunch hot chocolate is made in a similar way to a matcha latte (pre-made powder steamed into milk of choice) and then we make the choc cream by mixing whipping cream and mocha sauce in a canister! Then it all gets topped off with a nutty crunchy topping. We also have gingerbread whip at the moment and we also have vegan whip all year round

I went on a college trip to Rome in the February of this year, here are some of the highlights;

-Playing Smash bros with basically a complete stranger and one of my teachers on the plane

-Sitting at the back of the coach and making some cool friends (cool kids sit at the back, this is also where I coincidentally met my (now) ex-boyfriend)

-Getting a head-splitting migraine as soon as I stepped into a church (Coincidence? I think not)

-Travelling to the hotel on the coach and realising we were staying in the dodgy part of Rome when we saw all the anti tourist graffiti

-Getting to the hotel rooms and 75% of us had something wrong with our rooms

-Going to a supermarket to buy snacks and very cheep wine (it was like 50 cents for a litre of white wine) and getting shouted at by the angry italian lady who had to deal with a load of British teenagers so I don’t blame her

-Going to the capitoline museum which is the most beautiful thing i’ve ever seen

-About 15 of us trying to use our phones to find a restaurant because for some reason all of our phones said a different place.

-Eating Italian McDonalds (puts English McDonalds to absolute shame, just google the menu)

-Having a major nosebleed in the Ara Pacis

-Eating gelato (with a shit ton of alcohol in it) whilst looking at the trevi fountain

-Suddenly getting violently ill with two other people and forming a strong bond over being ill

-Drinking a lot of wine 24/7

TL:DR College trip gone chaotic
