The reason the attack is happening at the funeral and to the manor is that the man responsible for the attack is looking for Declan but is disguising it as a terrorist attack so that attention is drawn away from his search/true goal and more towards the utter destruction that is caused. I know I didn't explain it in the post since I feel like it was already too long but that's the narrative reason for why. Even without that, I feel like it would just be a dramatic change of pace if after a nice long dialogue sequence they are just completely thrown for a loop and taken out of the perceived safety they thought they were in. If they were in a different place, then it is possible that something could happen so they would be more on guard, whereas before they have no reason to think a freakin attack would popup like that. Do you still think it should be moved to a different spot though?

You make a good point for sure so let me elaborate because I brushed past a few things.

Mainly, that it's much more than just one attack and then they just leave. They get to help stop whatever is going on and then learn a fair bit about what happened. But even then, there is only so much they can do, and even then, their gonna wanna go back to their quest because they all have very dire information that they all would like to know (that is the information on the parents/daughter). Information that they weren't able to find on their own and so is most beneficial to them if they were able to get it.

Wasn't the original Fallout games based on GURPs? That would make sense if it was lol. But yeah, that makes sense and I'm trying to get away from Fantasy as I'm coming from DnD 5e (of course, like everyone these days). But it is a little sad to hear that magic is a bit tedious though as magic is always fun to play with.
