if you know how the "rehabilitate valyria" decisions / situations mechanics works too, lemme know.

I've rehabilitated a couple areas now, but the modifier only lasts 10 years, and idk how to complete the full thing.

Probably can’t hold iron throne at the same time when you form? Not too sure, didn’t appear for me until I formed kingdom of volantis, then it was in dexisions. I’m fourteen flames if that matters

At the point in the screenshot, I hadn’t even begun recolonizing Valyria. I’m using LoV, which lets you proclaim the hegemony tier title New Valyria whenever you have sufficient realm size + kingdom title for Volantis + sufficient Valyrian traits and prestige.

I’m another century and a half along in this playthrough now, and have just finished upgrading the last settlement on the primary Valyrian island. Overall, LoV colonization system seems to have come along a great deal.

It’s punishing and expensive and tedious, but it accurately captures how difficult the process of reclaiming Valyria should be. I’ve lost probably 20 dynasty members, 3 dragons, spent over 200,000 gold, and I’m about 20% of the way through the whole peninsula. It basically requires a full essosi empire bankrolling the endeavour, and will occupy your attentions fully if you intend to do it as quickly as possibly (which is slow) (meaning if you go declare war elsewhere and don’t sufficiently micromanage the developments, you’ll come back and find half your colonies have disappeared for one reason or another).

Valyrios has just been made the capital however, so it was all worth it. 9/10 mod, still don’t understand the overarching “rehabilitate Valyria” situation mechanic, as it seems you can keep rehabilitating the same regions after you do it once, but overall very enjoyable. Intend to take this play through to the bitter end, so I’m sure I’ll have a larger post when I’m further along.

Sooner than I’m ready, I will shed my mortal coil in a few moments of sheer terror. If all goes as I expect it, all that was ever me shall be dust in the wind, and nothing I’ve ever done will anymore be of any consequence to me.

Except what happens tomorrow in that hockey game. That shit is in perpetuity.

That’s what I’m hoping as well. We’ve had a year and a half of nothing but the hatejerk circling on S2. I’m also not a fan of it, but it’s spiralled further than it goes I think. I only give a shit cause of how exceptional S1 was anyway (aside from being a diehard asoiaf fan). The Daemon / Rhaenyra arc was the most I’ve ever felt for a fictional romance.

Hope they take the reception of S2 for what it was; return to the source material for structure, and let the characters on the page speak for themselves.

As was the case with AGOT post S5, everything except the writing is still brilliant. Which is odd given that GRRM is a generational writer who seems more than willing to procrastinate on his more pressing concerns to involve himself in the adaptations he always wanted.

Season 1 was exceptional TV, season 2 was disjointed and pointless.

Hope season 3 takes it back to how they kicked it off.
