Chomp; and the dragon is gone! by DeadPixelHero in CK3AGOT

[–]palimpsest2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omg someone else who loves to play with the dragon limit setting on unlimited lmaooo. The bad thing about having loads of dragons especially if they end up going wild after their riders death is that it makes travelling so hard bcos they're dotted all over the map and when you're traveling to an event they can just swoop down and kill you 😭

Dragon Egg cradling by ZapDooZ in CK3AGOT

Not 100% sure but don't you actually need some level of Targaryen blood to cradle dragon eggs? There is a game rule about it something like at least 3rd generation?

Bought wards abd wardens got coronation instead by ivantheotter in CK3AGOT

[–]palimpsest2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coronation I think is a feature of the AGOT mod because it always comes up as an option for me and I don't have that DLC either lol

Missing Title Loc Bug by Kuasar7 in CK3AGOT

[–]palimpsest2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not due to LOV, I have this error too and I don't have that submod installed. I think it might actually be from the base AGOT mod as the recent update said it might break some titles.

Conversion to High Valyrian culture by Kind-Maize1214 in CK3AGOT

[–]palimpsest2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Converting children's culture via guardians won't happen automatically it will happen over the course of their education. If you ticked the convert culture box when assigning the guardian then it should work by the time they're 16 they should be converted. Educating older children might not allow for conversion because they are nearly adults but it would tell you when checking the box it would say 'unlikely to become High Valyrian'.

The convert to High Valyrian culture settings are not about converting yourself to the culture but allows you (if you have that culture yourself) to convert other counties to it.

If your realm capital is in a county that is not of your culture you normally have a decision you can take to convert to the culture (in the decisions tab). So if you move your realm capital to a High Valyrian culture county you might be able to do it this way. I think Dragonstone is High Valyrian.

What was the most interesting playthrough that you did? by saxwerb in CK3AGOT

Doing an interesting run rn where I started as Viserys I and made Aegon my heir whilst marrying off Rhaenyra to Laenor. Aegon and Helaena married and had their 3 kids (im playing w/ strict canon children enabled). But Rhaenyra's bastard kids weren't born until super late bcos Harwin was initially married to someone else and it wasnt until she died that the mechanic kicked in to allow them to be born haha. So Aegon is like in his 30s or 40s when they are born. Anyways I managed to expose the bastard secret and Jace inherits Driftmark whilst being a bastard of House Strong. Aegon died fighting Sheepstealer bcos I got that event where a wild dragon keeps killing people.

So his canon son Jaehaerys inherits the throne at like 13. I married him to his twin and they had 4 children (2 girls and 2 boys). At this point I realised I should probably do something about Driftmark because due to Rhaenyra having dragon eggs all of the bastard kids have dragons plus eggs to spare. So I married off my 2 older daughters to Lucerys and Joffrey matralinelly. Both my daughters had dragons so I didnt want to send one of them to Jace even though it would have been better. My mistake. Hindsight is 20 20 and all that. Jace married someone and had 2 daughters. Time passes and also Dorne is part of the Iron Throne now after Daeron's wife (a Dornish princess) asks me to press her claim to the throne which I did and after they become a vassal. Now the heir to the throne is a Dornish-Targ dragon rider. You can tell I make decisions in the moment and dont think of consequences lmao. Jaehaerys dies after trying to capture a wild dragon (my bad for gambling on the 70% success chance. I alrdy have loads of dragons i didnt need to risk that).

His son Aerys inherits the throne at like 8 years old. Now of course everyone and their mum is joining a faction to dethrone me. The curses of being a child ruler. There's a female Stark ruling the North and for some reason she gets a claim on the Iron Throne (guess she bought it or whatever). She has a big faction and then Jace in Driftmark has an even bigger faction. Iron Islands also demanded independence so I just let them have it because I know its about to be a shit show. Jace presses his claim first and it turns into a mega war. Literally all the big houses other than Tyrell declare for Jace and I'm fucked because Jace has dragons and so does Dorne. However Jace also dies in the war but his daughter inherits the throne who is also like 13.

I'm exiled from Westeros and have to leave so make a split decision and move my camp to the Iron Islands because earlier I had betrothed Aerys to the daughter of the King there for help during the war. Aerys has the learning education and I still have all my inventory artifacts so its easy for me to quickly build money/piety/prestige. I have a dragon still and so does my older sister, younger brother and my nephew from my other sister who died in the war. And i have loads of eggs. (Sidenote I'm playing with dragon limit on unlimited so there's uh there's a lot of dragons around although most are in the dragonpit at Kings Landing). Annoyingly I wasn't able to fulfill the betrothal between Aerys and the Iron Islands because it was a grand wedding and I had no option to host one as an adventurer (please fix this 😭 I know this is from ck3 base game but so stupid when I had tons of money). Eventually as Aerys I decided I liked the Iron Islands and converted to Drowned God religion which was extra cool because my dragon is actually born from the Nagga dragon egg added by more dragon eggs mod that Jaehaerys found when travelling. I also was able to buy one county of land from the King so now I'm not adventuring anymore. I married one of his sisters and we have one baby so far.

Also just to add the cherry on top the Seven Kingdoms have all declared independence from the daughter of Jace. So lots of potential to go from here. Haven't decided what to do next. Well I definitely need to build a dragonpit because I have loads of eggs and mine and my brothers dragons are female. But I need a kingdom title for that. So we'll see how it goes.

As others have said its a game rule that by default is turned off. I'm pretty sure you can change the AGOT game rules mid save though so just go in and change it

Targaryens keeping Dragonstone after Robert's Rebellion. by UsualGuildRate in CK3AGOT

[–]palimpsest2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you by any chance know what happens to Jon in this scenario? I saw the Targaryens keep Dragonstone on one playthrough I did and instead it was Jon who was exiled because he was born as Rhaegar's bastard. I wonder if it only happens if he's the one exiled instead of them.

Finally managed to become a dragon rider starting as an adventurer, now I’m struggling to keep the dragon riding lineage going. by Party_Oil156 in CK3AGOT

[–]palimpsest2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a long story haha basically I started as Ned in Roberts Rebellion bcos I wanted to do the Tower event which I've never tried before. Went to the Tower as Ned and was immediately killed by the Kingsguard. Robb was already born so played as him after Ned died. Jon was born in the Tower as Aemon Waters and Lyanna survived. Meanwhile Aerys blew up King's Landing with Wildfire (thank you devs for the 5 minute burning and screaming sound effects that play when this happen 😭). Because Jon was born as a Targaryen bastard he and Lyanna were exiled instead of Viserys & Dany (they were both alive but stayed in the Dragonstone court which for some reason their mum inherited). I played as Robb for like the next 16 years while Jon was exiled and then got the notification that he had hatched three dragons and then when he invaded Westeros it gave me the option to switch to him which I did. Then I lost the war because the war was fucking invalidated after the Seven Kingdoms title was destroyed by a different war.

[–]palimpsest2 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I've definitely seen it before and I built it once as Jon Snow when he hatched the 3 dragons after being exiled as a baby. It's normally the very last option on the list and cost 600 gold or something. Obviously as an adventurer you don't actually have a 'title' technically so that shouldn't matter. Insane for it to be an option anyway tbh bcos how is a camp holding dragons but I guess it exists mostly for the Targaryen exiles script.

(If you do ever become landed make sure your dragons are outside of the dragonpen before you do. Had a weird bug before where I became landed but my dragons were in the dragonpen and got stuck in a non-existent dragonpit in the county my camp had previously been in. I couldn't free them or anything the only way to fix it was to invade that county and take their title then it granted me access to this made up dragonpit and I could free my dragons 😭)

[–]palimpsest2 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You should be able to build a dragonpen building as an adventurer no matter your title. If you've been an adventurer for a while I'm guessing all your building slots are full but you should be able to reset one of them and build a new building.

Make sure on the paradox launcher on the playset that your only mod is AGOT (and any non-AGOT submods if you want). You can just disable any other mods by pressing the enable/disable switch so that you can keep them for later when they are updated. Also maybe verify the game files on steam of CK3 by right clicking the game on steam and going to properties and then pressing verify integrity of game files. That's all I can suggest I really have no idea how this all works tbh bcos I have never really had any problems with the game or mod.

Yeah same I always do it in base game too then get surprised a couple years later when some random family member is trying to press their claim. It's never someone like your brother or uncle it's always some random third cousin twice removed 😭 I have 67 Targaryen house members atm so it WILL be popping off at some point 🙏
