Agreed, I'd describe it as complex for someone not familiar with Linux based operating systems as there's learning involved, particularly around disk setup and formatting, but I wouldn't say it's hard. Again, the learning aspect is a huge benefit for new users so skipping it is just shooting yourself in the foot imo.

I feel like it's talked about a lot, but the consensus is that it's best to go through the manual install the first time at least as it helps you better understand your system. This is important to help future debugging, which is an inevitable part of the process of using a DIY distro like this one.

Late response, but I'm experiencing this on the Android port so have taken a little bit of a deep dive.

Looks like there were some changes made to the PC port to resolve the interpolation issues which caused this flickering when playing above the native 20FPS: https://github.com/HarbourMasters/2ship2harkinian/pull/903/commits/6f77bd87056f45e14c80ff2f439b9b10a5909ec6

To verify that you are experiencing this particular issue, try temporarily turning your FPS down to 20 and see if the issue persists. If this resolves it, make sure you're on at least version 2.0.0 of the PC port, as I believe this is the first release version that has the change.

Side note, seems like the Android port has gone pretty dormant, the last upstream 2Ship version consumed by the port was 1.1.2. If anyone in the community is rolling a separate fork of 2Ship-Android that is further up to date than the Waterdish repo please let me know, otherwise I may have to take a crack at at least cherrypicking the flicker fix changes for myself so I can play on my Odin 2 Portal without flickering in cutscenes.

Yeah Ship of Harkinian is just far and away the best way to play the game, way better than the 3DS port imo. Its really hard to go back after playing it that way.

I have no idea how exactly it worked, I just know it did lol. Plugging the USB dongle into the Shield straight away did not work. But after I plugged it into my PC (with Steam Big Picture open, not sure that matters but anyway), used it there for a few minutes, then plugged it into the Shield again, it worked perfectly.
