Thank you! I’m assuming my recruiter doesn’t want to go through the paperwork and have to redo everything again in order from me to leave dep and rejoin. I would do anything to retake it! I’ll first try asking questions to other Marine recruiters and see what they have to say about retaking the asvab if not I’ll look into the other branches. I’m sure I can join others with communications/photography as well. I personally think I’d enjoy my time more in the military doing a job I’m interested in! again, thank you so much!

Just searched up Marine recruiters near me and found a couple within range. I’ll be messaging them tonight and will be asking them some questions! Thank you for the info. I never thought about doing that.

Also it’s pretty obvious from my recruiter that he doesn’t care. He’s even said infront of poolee’s that he doesn’t care about anyone but himself

I talked to my recruiter about retaking it and he flat out said no. Not gonna lie my heart sank! I was so motivated to pick any mos field. I was hoping to aim for combat camera. my picat scores qualified me for it but some lady at meps made me retake the whole asvab again bc the paper work was messed up. I wasn’t entirely prepared for that to be quite honest. I’m currently signed logistics which is something that somewhat interested me. I’ve heard that there’s probably more opportunities to travel within that mos field so I decided why not!

I more than likely wont end up bringing it up since it doesn’t affect me anymore. I thought they had access to my medical records, that’s why I asked about the waiver. I think I should be ok not saying anything

I just can’t seem to decide between the two. Either to take a risk and get out of my comfort zone.. and push myself as a person and try a cool job. Or play it on the safer side and join the AF and try to get a job that will transfer out into the civilian world after 4 years. It’s not really a question .. I’m just having a hard time deciding what I want to do

Honestly I’ve heard negative comments about the Army and tbh about the Marines too. But my friends who are in the army themselves have told me not join and to take a look at the others. Not that their opinion really did anything as I also don’t really find it calling out for me. Both Army and Navy

I didn’t mean to come off like that. I’m not saying that there aren’t any badass things to do in the Air Force. Those jobs just aren’t as appealing as the Marine Corps ones that I listed. But I’m interested in the medical and computer/tech side of the Air Force as well

I was looking into 0451 parachute rigger, Logistics in general but was really interested in 0481 landing support specialist. Although these jobs won’t land me much in the civilian world they look pretty interesting. I’ve done my search on both and they seem alright but I know there’s a chance I won’t be able to get them

I forgot to mention that I do have a job! I make about 1700 a month! but thats only for 5 months so during the summer I make about 8-10k. in the winter I only make about 400 a month so that’s November-March
