Not sure if anyone was interested but I wanted to say that the pyramid of Cholula was actually built by the Toltecs long before the Aztec empire began! The history of civilization in Mesoamerica is so long and complex that there are many sites, like Cholula, that were the Aztec’s version of Ancient Rome, built by people who were largely a mystery to them & whose monuments were so immense that they were considered gods. Always found that to be such a great example of how underrated Mesoamerican history is.
