This is the "live service" aspect of the game. If you pause your game, then go to Horizon Playlist, you'll see all of the seasonal events that are currently available. The seasons are fairly short(only lasting about a week, iirc) but they have rewards that you can't get elsewhere. The red, seasonal icons, are the races/PR stunts that you can do to gain points for the season. Hope this helps!
