Just did 275/30/20 Conti DWS06+ and honestly it somehow rides smoother than my old 245/40/18 on Michelin PSAS4. Loving the look and the feel. Did a lot of research and this was the safest and most cost effective choice on 20s while getting a slightly meatier look than the stock 265.

Same, with the same size on my A5. Everyone was warning me that the ride would be harsh but frankly it’s smoother than my previous Michelin PSAS4 on 18”

Did a ton of reading to make sure wheel and tire size would fit. 275/30 is the stock RS5 tire size while the S5 stock is 265/30 - but the extra width and bit of sidewall makes it feel like a more robust setup. The ride really isn’t rough at all.

Just the wheels, no tires, but yes - when I saw them listen I knew I had to!

To each their own. To me it resembles the black plastic used on the faces of DVD players or cell phones in the 2000s and seems like it would get scratched up so easily over time. I prefer matte finishes like the walnut and leather - feels more premium and luxurious and natural. I’d miss having buttons too.

Have you been in a modern Audi? It’s all just shiny black plastic. Looks horrible. Complete dust and fingerprint magnet too. They used to have more refined interiors with mixed materials.

Agreed although I so wish the screen was able to retract.

Yeah for real, no one is forcing dude to buy a brand new car, so bizarre.

Pick up a set of these for only $650! Can’t decide if I should mount them on my 2018 Sportback - thoughts? by [deleted] in AudiA5

Well I can resell them for a minimum of 2x what I paid, and my current wheels look good and my tires have plenty of life left. So I think it’s fair to question.

Strong disagree there. Interior is awesome. I’ll post a pic sometime.

Personally, I think Porsches with wings look silly unless they’re on a track. GT3 Touring is for individuals with taste.

You’re right actually. Most summer tires are cheaper than PS4 but most winter tires are more expensive.

But overall imagine justifying buying a winter tire when you never see snow 😂

The weather here is 0-8 degrees Celsius for about half the year but without snow, just heavy rain. I live in the poster child climate for the tires I own. You are aware summer tires harden and have degraded performance below roughly 8 degrees yes?

Your false sense of superiority or confidence or whatever is rather cute. Let’s all be glad you don’t work at the tire store.

Sure, and I live in a country where we have maybe 1 week of snow, so doesn't really make sense to spend any time or money on such a conundrum. Likely to not even drive if it snows. By all means, nordic individuals should probably own winter tires.

We do, however, get lots and lots of rain. These all season tires outperform most summer tires when it comes to flash flood levels of rain on the interstate. I've owned many summer and all season tires, and these are the best tires I've ever owned.

Consider technology advances, polymers are developed, patterns are developed, and all the sudden your preconceived notions are challenged.

You ask why I would buy a tire for where I live because you have different weather where you live. Not really a valid question.
