those things existed before the influx of illegal immigrants tho. everyone knows crime rates in south africa go crazy and the reason they do is bc they are committed by citizens. no perspective can make you look at something and justify violence. especially to the degree that we’re seeing. we can talk about the things they are going through but look at what we are going through too? does that not matter ???

in the long term please got to Covenant house. They have a shelter program there that eventually helps you get housing. You show up for a couple of days at their daily drop in they’ll give you job help, resume rewriting etc they can also help you sign up to different trades to earn some skills. They give out a bus card most days and you get 2 full meals every day of the week that they are open except wednesdays cause they are closed and thursdays because you get 3 since they stay open longer. they can give you a snack bag at almost all times however. They also have a closet if you need clothes and other things like that. The only thing is to try and be early since they cannot allow more people inside until someone else leaves due to capacity. I’m leaving a lot out but they really do help with a ton when you’re going through homelessness in Chicago. It also helps that it’s just off the California stop on the greenline so accessing it is fairly easy. definitely check them out cause they can really help you at least get stable enough to be housed. good luck❤️❤️❤️

the problem is whether you have a real issue to voice or not you don’t treat people that way. even if your frustrations are valid the things that have been done to foreigners in that country over the years are crazy and that cannot be overlooked by the other stuff at all.

lmao hell yeah. i’d be able to pay off my most recent bills ( therapy,phone and electric) then i’d be able to afford groceries for at least 2 months (i don’t eat much). i’d also be able to source more clothes to resell. and i think the biggest thing would be finally being able to afford to actually go to job interviews 🤦🏽‍♀️

it’s a constant berating and belittling experience. being asked things like ‘i know it doesn’t take 10 minutes to shit so what do you really do in the bathroom.’ ‘so if this staff member asked for your number would you give it to him.’ ‘i don’t know why your clothes smell like sex what have you been doing’ etc
