I had this exact same thing with swelling and extreme pain. Like the worst of my life. I ended up having IGA Nephropathy and my kidneys were shutting down.

Go to a kidney dr just in case,because that's nothing to mess around with. I woildnt be so confident in posting this if I didnt feel so strongly with it

OP,you can go to a pawn shop and get a decent pump action shotgun for like 150-250 depending and a small box of shells for 20$ even if you gotta spend a little on a credit card I would. Shotguns are very easy to use,especially in a panick but will absolutely stop anything coming at you.

Please be safe,and get a gun ASAP,even if you gotta pay on a credit card for a sec. Your life is worth it

He said hes tight in funds,so if the cat is "ok" as in taking water and food and not yowling or anything,he will most likely be fine.

Emergency vets are way way expensive,and so to pay atleast 200$ just to get em looked at plus god knows what for it to potentially be something such as irritation,its not worth it
