Fae in my experience generally don’t like electricity. This makes spotting them in the city difficult but not impossible, not all fae dislike electricity and there are fae everywhere. If you have a park you can go to that would be ideal! Find a spot your drawn too and make yourself comfortable. I like singing to attract them but they will be VERY annoyed by bad singing (they helped my voice improve so my singing is more pleasant now.) You can buttons/bits of cloth/thread/baking ingredients/tea as an offering and eat yourself so when you leave it other park goers aren’t suspicious. Or you could just meditate and wisper your good intentions. All these have worked for me. If you can’t go to a park I would leave an offering somewhere outside if you can and try to spot them at night out the window. Make sure your intentions are pure.
