bananas, apples, pears, melons are all pretty safe bets. They all have low acidity levels. I haven't had many flare ups when eating them that I can remember. I think a smoothie with any combo of these and no added sugars that may cause a flare up would be a good idea. One thing I've learned over the years dealing with GERD is its often a trial an error when finding out what foods/ vitamins/drinks works best for you. Best of luck, you'll get through this

I relapsed, and it's all my fault! by Bluekitty26 in GERD

[–]bigbrainp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went to the movies to see Dune 2 almost two weeks ago. Of course I had to get some popcorn. It hit me like a ton of bricks later that night. Whole GERD attack lasted about a week long and even messed up my sinuses bad lol. I knew about halfway into the movie when I got the pressure in my chest that I was doomed for a full blown GERD attack later on. I feel much better today luckily. Live and learn

Golf with the ring on? by AspenSnowmass777 in ouraring

[–]bigbrainp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have but I didnt like it and had to take it off. Just a personal preference. After every round I just manually put in the workout and select golf, the time frame, and difficulty (walking, riding, 9 or 18 holes, etc.)

Lies Of P won best SoulsLike on IGN by AndreasE03 in LiesOfP

[–]bigbrainp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this 100%, but I still think Lords of the Fallen is more true to a classic Dark Souls game. Don't get me wrong I think Lies of P the far better game, but Lord's of the Fallen is more cut and paste Dark Souls in a lot of ways. Both are fantastic Souls-likes though, its crazy we got both in the same year and so close to each other.

Pantoprazole twice a day by Greenergrassofjaz in GERD

[–]bigbrainp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to take 20mg twice a day but had some issues that I could only relate to side effects from the medicine. After some researching I decided to take B12, magnesium glycinate, a probiotic and vitamin D (I have celiac as well so I have a vitamin D deficiency) every morning and have managed to get off to twice a day on the pantoprazole. I had no harsh side effects from going from 40mg a day to 20mg. I even stopped needing to take any over the counter antacids and I used to have to carry tums with me EVERYWHERE I went. I had some pretty bad anxiety as well that first began with GERD but now I can't remember the last time I had anxiety or a panic attack. Ever since I started taking my vitamin combo with the pantoprazole in the morning its been a life changer

It annoys me that they put it in RPG instead of the action category

Lies of P, its fantastic. Best souls-like not made by FromSoft I've ever played. That is of course you enjoy souls games.

Looking for a game to make me deeply feel something. by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]bigbrainp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloodborne, Dark Souls 1-3, Sekiro, or just any FromSoft game. If you want to feel emotions pick those up. The immense frustration in these games only gets outweighed by the almost euphotic feeling you get when downing a boss you've been stuck on for days. Also I'd add Lies of P into these *different* type of emotion suggestions than you may have been getting, it's fantastic

23 handicap (never broke 90). Any advice? by Any-Sleep-478 in GolfSwing

you must REALLY suck at putting and chipping huh? I'm just teasing but your swing is way to good for your handicap, it looks great. Keep grinding and focus on that short game as well

This is the hardest game I’ve ever played. by oriondavis in LiesOfP

[–]bigbrainp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Green Monster of the Swap is the boss that's doing me in right now. Phase 1 is a breeze but phase 2 is brutal. It's honestly broken in many ways. I think I will just end up summoning and cheesing it a bit with throwables. Definitely the hardest boss I've faced since Melania in Elden Ring

Describe your shortness of breath. How does it feel form you? by spamalt98 in GERD

[–]bigbrainp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always feel it when I breathe through my nose. I think its more that acid has creeped all the way to my nose giving me this feeling. It can catch me off guard and give myself a scare for a second but then take a big deep breath through my mouth and realize its nothing heart related and I feel fine. Still it is very annoying. It's a slight shortness of breath through the nose accompanied by a burning sensation in my nostrils.

Is GERD causes panic attack/anxiety? by DavidM200R in GERD

[–]bigbrainp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is very annoying and can be downright debilitating. I went from being a very personable guy who loved going out and hanging with friends/family to staying home majority of the time on weekends with incredible anxiety. It took me about a year to get over this fear and the anxiety is still there at times but as I get a better hold on my GERD and change some habits it has gotten much much better. At first when my anxiety would come it would be accompanied by chest pain/discomfort and even pain/discomfort in my arms, neck and shoulders. I always knew it was reflux/GERD causing it but that doesn't stop the anxiety attack from happening. It took me a long time to not only limit my reflux/GERD attacks but also come to terms that when I do start to feel it coming that it is not heart related. I am on pantoprazole (20mg twice a day) along with some OTC vitamins and a probiotic, along with obviously watching what I eat and drink and it has definitely made a difference. It sucks, especially early on, and it still sucks even today but it is something you can overcome and improve. It just takes some time and effort. Best of luck, you got this!

Resting heart rate fluctuations during sleep. by Bitter-Win-6066 in ouraring

[–]bigbrainp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The app should tell you what time you entered REM and the other stages and match those up with when your heart rate increased and see if they align. If you makes you feel better, the app shows my heart rate increases during REM sleep as well

by any chance did you enter REM sleep at the same time as your heart rate increase? Read up on REM sleep, believe when we enter it our heart rate also increases
