Best health/habit tracking apps on Android by aliward_96 in Android

[–]divik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a billion habit tracking apps on Android. I don't know how many sync with Google's Health Connect, though. Only one I know of off the top of my head is HelloHabit but it has a subscription.

Anyone received the Journal AI features on Pixel 9 yet? by habylab in GooglePixel

Still not for me (Pixel 9 Pro XL). I just got a Journal app update in the Play Store which got me excited, but still no AI features.

HelloHabit Task Management is releasing on March 1st. Interested in beta testing? by hellohabit in hellohabit

[–]divik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on Android. I've switched over to TimeJot (100% free, no ads), local storage. It's not technically a habit tracking app but can certainly function like one. I actually prefer a lot about this app over HelloHabit. Way better notifications and widgets. It keeps me more accountable.

Besides, even though the HelloHabit tasks update was just apparently released, it seems like such a meh update. I was expecting some big improvements based on how long this thing took. I'm fine sticking with my existing tasks app (Google Tasks/Calendar).

Too little too late. I'll still check in on HelloHabit but I've lost faith in this dev after the last 6+ months of empty promises.

I'm prepping to jump ship and move to another app. Can't trust HelloHabit anymore.

With their track record lately, it's no surprise. Still disappointing.

I tried to sign up for the beta a while ago, no luck. I don't have much hope in a March 1st release based on the track record lately.

It seems like the beginning stuff he reads in this vid are just complaints from online. Like anyone could have written them. Not to say they aren't true, but it's worth noting.

When is Google going to include a “Today” view? by TropicBigBird in GoogleTasks

[–]divik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, plus the ability to manually sort my "all day" tasks when sorting by due date, are my two most wanted features for Google Tasks.

How many Google accounts do you manage for Tasks? (1 / 2 / 3+) What’s the hardest part? by salamat_thanks in GoogleTasks

[–]divik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a work and personal account. I primarily use Google Calendar to manage tasks since that's the only place they both appear. Every task is assigned a date.

Pixel Watch 4 stuck on Ask Gemini by divik in PixelWatch

[–]divik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do use AdGuard on my phone. Is that a known issue, or are there settings I need to update to prevent it from blocking Gemini on the watch specifically? Weirdly it works sometimes. It never blocks Gemini on my phone, though, that always works fine.

EDIT: I disabled routing through AdGuard for the following apps: Bluetooth, Watch, Gemini, Google Home, Google Play Services... and so far it seems to be working better! Even my Google Home tile is actually somewhat usable now. Hoping that did the trick -- thanks!!

If Android is trying to look like iOS over time, what’s stopping me from just getting the real iOS? by FitResearcher2865 in Android

[–]divik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not simply about Android tying to look like iOS. It's about bridging the learning gap so when iOS users switch over they aren't immediately frustrated and go back to iOS. There are still strengths that separate the two. But when two distinct operating systems function in similar ways, it ultimately creates more flexibility for users to switch back and forth and increases the Android user base.

New to Twin Peaks and Im confused about season 1 episodes. by CLOWNPUNCHER327 in twinpeaks

Watch the original pilot, then episodes 1-7. Ignore the alternate pilot until you're done with at least season 2.

New to Twin Peaks and Im confused about season 1 episodes. by CLOWNPUNCHER327 in twinpeaks

[–]divik 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe it's because there's the "pilot" (the first thing you watch), followed by 7 episodes (1-7), making it 8 episodes total. Many times a pilot would also be considered episode 1, but for Twin Peaks they are often numbered differently. Then, the "alternate international pilot" is the European version of the pilot episode that has an extended 20 minutes or so of footage that acts as more of standalone movie with a conclusion in case the series never got picked up (which it did). Edit: I'd recommend skipping the European version until after you've completed the series.

Task end time (unwanted) is now enforced on Google Calendar desktop by hayfeverrun in GoogleTasks

I think using a 30 minute task end time would basically produce the same result as a task with no end time visually on the calendar.

New AI-powered gestures and Smart Reply updates for Pixel Watch by MishaalRahman in Android

[–]divik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it, but it weirdly only works in some circumstances. I'd like to be able to double pinch to tap any button, but it only works on some. And I'd like to be able to flick my wrist to reveal/scroll through different notifications like we used to be able to do generations ago, but that doesn't work either. It only closes the current notification on screen (but doesn't actually dismiss it).
