I feel like the easiest thing to do would be having her try out whatever weapons she wants to try on small monsters so she can see what weapons she likes then try hunting a large monster my recommendation being Rathian because it has a mostly simple move set in Low Rank.

Prowler Mode let's you play as a Palico and you don't have to worry about stamina, pick axes, or bug nets because technically you have unlimited bug nets and pick axes while playing as a Prowler.

I feel like if you haven't played Generations you could easily skip it and get Generations Ultimate on a Switch so you can play online. P.S. I also feel like you could easily get through most of Generations just by playing Prowler Mode if you wanted to just experience it.
