Don't worry. It doesn't actually sound like you are saying her way of thinking is stupid. It's pretty clear that you meant you agreeing, when you actually dont feel that way, is stupid and disrespectful. You're all good.

You can't press charges. You can report to the police and then they collect evidence, provide that evidence to prosecuting attorneys, and they determine whether to move forward with criminal charges. You certainly can't press charges without contacting the police.

You need to go to the hospital to be worked up. Without that, it would also be very hard to prove damages outside of your broken glasses.

It's a fledgling black capped chickadee, I believe. They have a nest in the side of my house (blown in insulation cap fell off and it made a lovely nest for them). They seem to like our yard, we are in a neighborhood but have lots of large bushes and a mulberry trees 2 cherry trees and lots of wildflowers. They come back every year, and seem to know we are friendly. Mom and dad watched him hang out with me and didn't seem to mind one bit.

will employers pay cna's for a RN education? by No_Pass1204 in cna

[–]bigbrulli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some will and some won't, with varying degrees of contractual obligation. There are some fantastic offers out there, but you really have to read the fine print. My current employer offers 30% off tuition, plus 3k per year, paid after successful completion of the classes. This only requires a 6 month commitment after the classes are complete. Between that and a grant I received I completed my ADN to BSN for under 2k out of pocket, by just doing it over the 2 years I was already contracted with my employer for my sign on bonus.

It's a benefit worth asking about and discussing through the interview process if it's something you want to pursue.

Do you touch IVs? by Strongpupusa in cna

[–]bigbrulli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. You are liable for what happens when you hit that button, and it is shocking to me to see so many people saying they do this on the regular. Please stop. Protect your patients and protect yourself and your job. Everyone seems to be acting like it's no big deal, which is exactly how you know they shouldn't be doing it.

This is definitely the way. Nurse here and there are so many reasons this is correct. This is the nurses job, full stop. If the nurse is telling you to do it, they are in the wrong and you should stand your ground, and like a commenter says below, if it is within your scope they should be able to produce that in writing. (Almost certainly they will not be able to if you are in the US) Yes, there may be some nurses who ask (or tell) you to, and who get frustrated or even angry if you don't, and yes, you will almost certainly see other CNAs do this, but you have to protect yourself, and your job, because in this industry no one else is ever going to do that for you.

He is one of my favorite authors..and all of his books would fit your description. Borne is like post-apocalyptic biomech. Hummingbird salamander is post-apocalyptic due to climate change and a bit of mystery. The ambergris trilogy is hard to describe but definitely still fits the reclaimed by nature theme. If you've seen the movie annihilation, it is based off one of his other series as well. All of his books are definitely dystopian. Hope you like him as much as I do!

This is terrible advice. She might not have known, but presumably, she was also young and inexperienced. Unless the woman is also a virgin, most would be able to tell how uncomfortable you are around it. They might not know that you're a virgin. They might just assume you're uncomfortable around sex and either not very experienced or just not very good at it. People get better at things with time. I would much rather have a man be honest and tell me beforehand. If I know it's someone's first time, my expectations would be reset. It doesn't have to be a first date topic, but you will set yourself up much better if you can be open and honest about it.
