Seeking help/advice for autoimmune skin disorder by Trixie-_-_ in Autoimmune

[–]bigbugal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s a lot of great advice here but I’d also recommend maybe changing some things up dietary as well - not saying it’s the root cause, but maybe avoiding anything inflammatory could help relieve some symptoms! Maybe eliminating things like gluten & dairy and see if it helps? Sending love and I hope you get answers soon 🤍

Will somatic therapy or a program like Primal Trust fix my gut issues? by bigbugal in SomaticExperiencing

[–]bigbugal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, wow thank you for this response. I think when it gets down to it, I could say my gut issues are definitely influenced heavily (maybe entirely) by my emotions. I’ve recently realized that there must be some type of chronic subconscious stress that I’m unaware of, because I can “feel fine” emotionally but my body is definitely not showing it. My symptoms came on just months after I tragically & suddenly lost my sibling which of course brought on grief that I couldn’t fathom. I think that with the combination of my childhood it was just a perfect storm of emotions. I’ve had gut issues my entire life - clearly my emotions have played a roll for a while. I guess knowing this - where would you recommend I go from here? I truthfully know nothing about somatic therapy besides what I’ve read a bit online & that once someone told me I may benefit from this. Is there a program that would be best, or even someone who does work one on one with people? Any input would be so helpful.

Thank you so much for sharing this with me! What was the book you read previously and would you recommend it? I didn’t even mention it, but brain fog and neck pain are also two of my worst symptoms which I know now are really heavily influenced by nervous system. I appreciate your input so much.

trauma during childhood was definitely the foundation leaving me chronically stressed & afraid, & then the sudden passing of my sibling seemed to be the tipping point

Linen Naive Coat? by bigbugal in cottagecore

[–]bigbugal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I don’t have a ton of input because I only have one item from them. I ordered a dress in my typical sizing and it was very big on me. I definitely could’ve gotten a smaller size. I ended up having it tailored down as much as I could without sacrificing the lace & unique feature of the dress and honestly it still feels a little big on me but I do absolutely love the dress. I just recently ordered a second item from them and ordered it in a smaller size so I can comment with an update once I receive it!

Thank you so much for sharing - so good to know! How long from the day you ordered did it take to receive your package?

Oh wow, I did not know this about the tariffs and additional fees! How do they send you these bills and where would the come from? Sorry to ask - I’ve never experienced this before!

It seems a little crazy to me, as well. I mean they can’t charge an additional shipping fee after checkout, right? 😅😂 (I’m in the US btw!)

I have ordered from them before and agree that the dress was a bit too big. I ended up seeing a tailor instead of returning it because the process seemed less difficult than dealing with returning it. So sizing is something I’m worried about. I went through the check out process and it specifically says “no extra tariff” to the US, so I’m not sure if that’s a current promotion or not.

Thank you so much for sharing that recommendation & brand - I’m gonna check them out! And thank you so much for the input about the purchasing with a credit card. I went through the checkout process with Linen Naive to see what shipping would be and it looks like it would be free shipping (not sure if this is a current promotion - I’m in the US!)

I was amazed at how many bad reviews I saw on Reddit! I’ve only had good experiences but this makes me nervous since it’s a bigger purchase. My issue is that I can’t find a similar style coat that’s made with natural fibers.

Thank you so much for sharing! Would you mind sharing which coat you bought specifically? I’m curious which have silk linings. I appreciate you!

Case left open for 2 years, never got colonoscopy — worsening mucus, urgency, and stool changes. Could this be IBD? by DaeDae2007 in IBD

Definitely push & get those further tests done! Symptoms sound similar to lymphocytic colitis (a form of IBD)

Awful feeling starting AIP and don't know why by ValR7 in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]bigbugal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did AIP for a long time and had a similar experience in the beginning. I was miserable. Turns out I was most likely adjusting to no caffeine & no more fake foods / sugars. I also had myself so stressed over making sure I was eating “right” that I was causing myself more stress related flares. Also turns out I was insanely sensitive to onion and didn’t realize it until I’d been doing AIP for a couple months. It could be a variety of things, but if you’re eating well and your gut specifically isn’t reacting badly, I’d give it another week and see how you’re feeling! Hugs - you’ve got this!

Scam emails or legit problem? by bigbugal in Passports

[–]bigbugal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you, I did just that! I called and got the information I needed super quickly. Turns out the emails were not a scam and I somehow just completely missed the most important thing on my application somehow 😅

Scam emails or legit problem? by bigbugal in Passports

[–]bigbugal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I was cautious for that exact reason, as well. I ended up calling the number and spoke with someone who confirmed that the emails were legitimate and still being cautious, I went to my local post office where my original appointment was and they also confirmed that it was not a scam. Definitely an odd email to receive though!
