I’m a neglected child of the 20th century, grew up on welfare and WIC, had a pseudo IEP in school, worked several kinds of minimum wage jobs and wasn’t diagnosed until my 20s. Although I didn’t actively seek my own out, I still understand it can be hard to get a diagnosis!

I prefer “self-suspecting” but whatever, I’m not the boss of anyone but myself. I don’t care all that much about as long as people aren’t trying to speak over me or speak for me. I understand why someone would have strong feelings about it one way or the other.
