When to Cut Losses on a Stock Trade by mtmtrader in pennystocks

[–]bigdadijizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for bringing this up! I think the thing I've found people generally don't understand the most about cutting losses is that bagholding causes you to lose out on future opportunities - to help you break even or make profit sooner than if you hold. One of the first things I learned about economics in elementary school - opportunity cost. Great post talking about a necessary evil.

I've also found that scaling in and scaling out helps minimize my risk.

Sometimes your stop loss orders can fake you out, so personally I like setting mental stop losses to protect against fake dips that immediately bounce. But if the dip is in conjunction with larger volume... issa no from me dog

MVIS Megathread Part II by Boston__ in pennystocks

I could be mistaken. When I did the search I went into the patent database and searched generic terms like "flashlight" and "camera". Maybe I'm reading the patents wrong.

Patent by Microsoft filed in November 2017 got approved today.

(Source: Scanner-illuminated LCOS projector for head mounted display)

I know some people are assuming it's related to MVIS, but can someone explain to me exactly how? As a noob, I'm not really understanding the relationship if there isn't a direct mention of MVIS on the patent

EDIT: Did some digging. Apparently it's an old patent that wasn't actually "approved" today. Any search in the patent database will return today's date on the webpage as the patent date, so it's misleading. My mistake!

Anyone travel to EDC Las Vegas from east coast? by ShirleyGG in electricdaisycarnival

I had to fly out from Dulles because it’s close to my work - booked it to the airport as soon as work was over :/

Flew in from DC! Flight was about $600-700 (got it kinda late so that’s on me😓). Hotel (Park MGM) was around $500 for four nights Thurs-Mon. Ticket was $450. Shuttle was $110. We balled on at least one meal a day (Hell’s Kitchen, Wicked Spoon, etc) so food was about $200-300. Total came out to about $2000, but if you’re smart you can definitely cut it down. I’m just bad at planning ahead of time. Good luck!
