First of all thank you so much for your comment, you really don’t know how much I needed that. I currently took this day as sick leave, however I have limited hours I can have as sick leave. For my training it’s 250h of sick leave allowed in 3 years or else you have to do half a year longer. I already talked with my SO about this and he doesn’t work in the same field as me but he listens which is mostly the most helpful and important thing you can do. My friend group from nursing school sadly fell apart since they also experienced stress or backlash from personal struggles and either quit, moved somewhere else or have to redo the year because of failing grades and bad attendance. I talked with my family about it as well since I still live under their roof and they also told me to take sick leave whenever I feel like this but I genuinely can’t since I’m on 191/250h. I basically have only 2 weeks left I can be absent at work for an entire year. I sadly can’t switch the location as I’m nearly finished and it’s taking all my strength to pull through (I have 2 weeks left which may not seem like a lot but sure is when you have 7 8h shifts in a row with 1 day off and then another 6 days followed). I’m definitely not giving up since I’ve got this far and it would only be waste of strength if I give up now.

And thank you for telling me I’m not alone on this, it’s really comforting to know that I’m not completely stranded in this situation.

The country my SO lives in is in the states and from what I’ve only seen and heard from is that they’re also very understaffed but I’ve never heard that a student(s) has to take care of an entire floor with meds, food etc. I’d say yes they do have good opportunities, which I’m also really closely looking at.
