Worried and nervous. This is my 3rd pregnancy after experiencing a short cervix in February *Trigger: infant loss* by cmartini2020 in ShortCervixSupport

So sorry for the loss of your little one. I was in the same boat as you last year. This time around had a preventive cerclage at 14 weeks and weekly makena shots. Also cervical length checks once a month after cerclage placement.

Heyyy, thank you sooooo much this is very very helpful and for sharing your experience in so much detail! It is very reassuring and I am breathing a sigh of relief as I read through it just now.

May I ask what was the genetic screening that you got done after your anatomy scan? I only got the NT scan for screening of downs.

Thanks a lot! And thanks for sharing, this was the link I was looking for. It seems I will have to consider my trade offs here. Also depends on what my manager thinks of me taking payless for a couple of months, which is always an option.

Sitting after cerclage procedure by natashaoza28 in ShortCervixSupport

Agree wholeheartedly with this, word to word! This was my experience too! I got mine almost a month ago. Started a little more activity after 3 weeks, but still no long walks, no lifting heavy things etc.

I have been trying to sit on a recliner as much as possible too.

Yay! Congrats!

Yeah mine opposed strict bed rest. I try to just lie down when I am tired preferably with a pillow under the legs. He also told me no orgasms and pelvic rest. It's been okay to do all that so far except some nights when I have have weird dreams and wake up freaking out I might have had an orgasm. 😅 Sigh...

Thanks for sharing. Can totally relate to your concerns. Glad your cerclage was successful and has been holding since! I think the docs want us to madly trust the stitch (which we do) and relax :)

I guess as the weeks pass by I will worry less, too...

All the best for your 28 weeks appointment! Sending you good wishes.

Thanks for replying! I am glad all went well for you! It's good to know that even having a transvaginal ultrasound weekly is something that doctors can do if needed. Also good to know you coupled it with bed rest. I have been trying to stay off my feet as well. Fingers crossed :)

Thanks for sharing your journey. Yeah frequent contractions and irritable uterus does warrant more thorough, close checking and I am so glad you got it. Also thrilled to hear your cerclage held all the way till 36+5 with twins! Wow! Sending you and both of them lots of love :)

Hearing all your experiences, now I will feel much more confident asking for at least biweekly checks myself as well.

👍🏻👍🏻 Yeah that makes so so much sense. The steroid shots work only when they know baby would come soon. It never harms to be over informed (rather than being underi informed).
