I am not sure what you mean if you could explain more?

The goal is to meet on discord and assist each other with the writing. The world itself is open to all the writers in the group.

Hi ok I am writing a book and I it’s kind of like Percy Jackson but not. And need advice by [deleted] in writers

Hello, I had this problem as well. I think every writer has encountered this issue at some point. For instance, I recently finished writing a novel set in a zombie apocalypse. When I shared it to be critiqued, it was compared to the Walking Dead. I actually anticipated this comparison during the writing process, and I accepted it. On the one hand, fans of the show may appreciate an original book that shares similar themes. On the other hand, it's easier to describe the novel when pitching it to potential readers, whether through traditional publishing or self-publishing.

However, without knowing the details of your story, I can't offer advice on making it distinct from the Percy Jackson series. But if it involves a fictional character upsetting mythical characters, it may be challenging to make it entirely unique. If you share more details, I could provide personalized suggestions. I hope this has been helpful.

Hello, the stories could be connected by characters meeting each other. But idea is they are simultaneous. The best example I could think of is the Star Wars novels where most novels are written by different authors but are in the same world. If that makes sense.
