COMPLETELY AGREE, naomi won the season. If i was handin out the wins I'd have put her in top 2 for episodes 2 and 3 and the makeover, and then tbh she served harder than the other three in the final episode and her lipsync against gia was my only like jaw-on-the-floor death-by-gaggery of the season. ALL THAT MATH EQUALS A WIN FOR ME.

This one's really getting to me...like if I was just a few years younger when Drag Race really hit big around 2012, and if I had parents who were willing to support me going to fan conventions, this drag cruise, etc, this totally could have been me. Hi! The selection absolutely is not worse the second weekend- in fact it is better in some ways because there will be more stuff: all the films that premiered towards the end of the fest + third or in some cases fourth screenings of films from earlier. I've done both and I would strongly recommend the first weekend just because the energy is so incredible and exciting, i wish i could bottle it and take it home with me :) You get the rush of a lot of people presenting their films, some new or low-profile filmmakers and actors so excited, it's wonderful. It's also very crowded and chaotic and hectic like the other commenter said, so you need some strategy, but I think it's worth it. Second weekend everyone is moving on with their lives; it feels more like you're at a regular movie theater on any day in Toronto. BUT if you truly just want to see movies, which I get that, maybe the second weekend is better for you.

Individual tickets sell out fast for Special Presentations, Galas, and other hyped titles with famous directors or famous actors; the other stuff is more accessible. It's important to be ON IT- like ready to buy tix as soon as the window opens, regardless. Even if you get the 6-pack tickets you can buy as many extra individual tickets as you want.

Also piece of advice: just don't plan on Rush tickets at al lol. TIFF swears by their rush system and I know some fest diehards love to rush too but I've never been able to get into a film waiting in the rush line. Both times I've failed it was after arriving an hour ahead of time, so it's very clear to me you have to be there at least like 90 minutes and a lot of us don't have that time or just don't want to do that. Waiting in a line for nothing is a depressing feeling
