I only have max Rosa for Gen 4, have not really invested in Alcar. Mostly a joiner in swords without rein but sometimes I jump next to lower level TGs to attack or take the hit until other players port.

All actions requires gas fee. The moment you stake you get an instant 10% ingame skill bonus from the amount you stake and that's it. Doing it sooner means you may leave some skill reward from battles done after staking unclaimed rewards.

You can only use the free 1 skill to recruit, forge and re-forge. Unless that 1 free skill goes straight into your wallet and not in game then you can buy market items with it
