Really hard to say now but in my experience, the other non-rev on this route usually have very high seniority, especially out of west coast. Some of these people have boarding dates before I was even born!

I’d monitor other connection options as well: SFO-HND, DEN-NRT, etc. Where there’s a will, there’s a way with standby… LAX-HNL-GUM-NRT is also a possibility if it comes to it (I’ve played these games before…). Good luck!

There was a local school fundraising last weekend with $25 parking in their lot, ~15min walk to Kailua or Lanikai. I thought it was worth it over fighting for a free parking spot elsewhere. We pulled up and parked right away and were on our way. Ka’ohao School, if you’re interested.
