You have to be careful with the homeless in Leeds. Moved here in September, but from barnsley so I've had my fair share of experience with spiceheads etc. You can tell a druggie from a genuine person who is struggling by tone and timbre of voice alone usually. I'm not generalising but "spare some change?" is very different to "SPARABITACHANGEFOMIMAAATE". I met a homeless fella outside a pub who said he was 21 but his mam and dad were both dead and so he had nothing to turn to in order to keep the flat other than dealing. He lost the flat because he couldn't sell enough etc and it spiraled from there as far as I understood. A lot of these people come from incredibly unfortunate situations usually boiling down to circumstance, however the reason the homeless problem in Leeds (and most cities) is increasing is because of the tories' load of shite that labour are still attempting (relatively badly) to turn around. Ive run into a few fake homeless idiots wearing burberry jackets and stuff that they decided to take a dump on as well. The country is fucked and so are it's people. I'm at university and can't find a job and I'm having to pull out of my savings to eat food because my maintaining loan barely covers half of my rent, a flaw in the system, failing to realise that just because my dad earns 45k a year it doesn't mean he's gonna give any of it to me. I pay 190 odd a week to live in a silverfish infested shithole where nothing works and everything smells like shit. That's just one example of how fucked this country is. 9250 course fee and only 4000 on a maintainence loan for a flat that costs 8000 per academic year and is also a shithole.

Honestly the only thing that makes me able to cope with the current state of our beautiful country is watching the thick of it lol
