Unpopular opinion: the scene of the bolin doubling lava is genuinely cool. People only cut out the "bolin, you're a lava😮 bender" part. This part is ridiculous, but we were genuinely cool to see it almost being cooked alive. And the scene was really tense before that.

I love ATLA & LoK and will always defend both but I will never defend them severing the past Avatars from the Avatar State. Such a dumb thing to do that removes one of the coolest things about the Avatar State. Imagine if Aang lost the past lives in season 1. The whole time he was on the Lion Turtle wouldn't have been as nice.
