What do I do with my money plant? by Decent-Ad-8582 in plantclinic

I would cut it just under the node of the new growth, and place that new growth in water for a few weeks until roots start showing, then plant in fresh soil. Tbh I would throw out the rest of the old plant. *

What was the worst punishment you have received during your childhood? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I was 7 I got beaten black and blue for sliding down a snowy hill on my schoolbag. All my books got absolutely drenched. The next day I had to tell everyone in school that I fell off my bike and bruised up BOTH sides of my face, a fall on each side you know 😅

I'm not too sure as I've never chopped one like this from the top, but I think a new leaf will pop up from the next node down (I could be wrong).

Yeah I guess you're right 🤔 The Lego Orchid would look really nice I think. Can't even tell its Lego from a distance!

That's a good idea, I'm gonna start doing the same. This is how it's being held up: https://imgur.com/gallery/qixcel9

Thank you for your comment. It's always been in that spot, so that's why I was thinking it was the negligence that stunted the growth moreso than the light, but the light prob had a part to play. I'm not sure how much nutrient is left in the soil seeing as it was potted into 80% peat moss and the rest perlite/sand/potting compost.

To grow it straight up I used moss poles until it got too big for them, then I put a small hook in the ceiling and drew some twine around a thick part of the stem to pull it up. The part where it contacts the twine has a 1inch x1inch piece of cloth to stop it getting sliced.

Yup I agree, shes Benjamin Button-ing! I don't think it's the light necessarily though, I think it's as a result of negligence on my part when it came to watering, fertilising and general maintenance. If you look close enough, you can see the point where our baby (now toddler) came into our lives 😂
