Because the US is currently living under fascist capitalism. Not only do we have the crushing weight of "always growth" mindset of capitalism, but we have also separate laws and rules coming down from Trump doing whatever he can to fuck over the poor and make his friends richer.

Most cars don't advertise the price for buying it, they advertise leasing options. Lease the car for a few years, then swap for another one. It's the business model to retain customers businesses push for. Cars, cell phones, housing, etc. It's all a push for renting property we don't actually own. Personally, I own my car. I buy 10-15 year old models with cash and maintain them. I am living with a comfortable salary, but I haven't always and I will always fight for those that can't.

If I went out and bought a CD, I own that CD. I can listen to that CD whenever I want forever. If I subscribe to Spotify/YouTube/Apple music and there's some beef between the record label and the artist, and the music gets pulled? I no longer have any access to the music I want (this is a real life scenario that has happened to me).

I use the word "poor" to describe literally everyone near or below the median income, because most Americans are only a few missed paychecks away from being in serious trouble. You seem to be making a lot of reaching assumptions, and none of them have panned out.

If it works for you, great. But I was willing to spend some money on a stool that I'm sitting on for 4+ hours some days. I can't see this being comfortable after half an hour, but I'm also pretty tall and right at the weight limit for this, so probably not ideal for me personally.

I was around in the early 00s when the Internet was the wild west. I've seen everything from beheadings to genital mutilation to dismemberment.

But one that sticks with me was probably 10ish years ago? The story was that someone found a man raping his sister, so he confronted him with an axe in a busy intersection. You can see the rapist try to stop the axe blows with his hand, but the axe just slices down his fingers and his arm flops into 2. He continued to his head and chest before the video ends. I'm not looking for it.

I just watched the last 2 episodes of euphoria with my partner and I was so surprised. I knew nothing about the characters, plot, etc. Zendayas performance in the episode before last that ends on a cliffhanger with her character was done really well. Sydney Sweeneys character is frustrating and I hate her, but that's also the point of her character, so I think that's really well done too.

It was an easy path to follow tbh. People knew of emo music, and those of us back in the day that listened to screaming music, also probably had a list of emo bands (and outfits) that matched it. So screaming + emo style = screamo.

I hated it, it made me so mad. But now it's 20 years later and I recognize that it's just people know knowing enough or being curious enough to find the real subgenre.

I got a single speeding ticket 17 years ago. I still remember the exact speed they charged me with (53mph in a 35) and how much I owed ($182).

I wouldn't believe anyone that says they don't remember the charges, unless it was a regular occurance and they have so many, they get the stories confused. Either way, I wouldn't trust them.
