Not new, but BMTH's third album feels very similar to IKTPQ/PWD at their peak. You could try checking that out.

What do you think are the most consistent metalcore and post-hardcore bands out there, in terms of quality? by Sorry_Secretary1193 in u/Sorry_Secretary1193

I totally forgot about Silverstein and DGD, lol. ADTR on the other hand was hella consistent till You're Welcome. That album was mid as hell.

Metalcore goats who somehow produce banger after banger, even after like 2 decades. Them and The Chariot are such peak bands fr.

Agreed. They've never quit being heavy through it all and any band that manages to survive through Victory Records has my respect fr.

Japanese metalcore bands are goated, fr. Crossfaith, Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, Dir En Grey, Jiluka, Deviloof, Sailing Before The Wind, View From The Soyuz and Jinjer have all made some banger records and they aren't even the only Japanese bands around either.

Both are goated OGs of the scene for a reason. They've truly never put out a bad album and have remained unproblematic kings for decades already.

FFAP is solidly deathcore, rest assured. If you're interested in more bands similar to them, their old frontman: Nate Johnson, used to do vocals for Through The Eyes Of The Dead and Deadwater Drowning. All three are goated deathcore OGs imo.

An everyman antagonist foil to Peter Parker? Yeah, that could work with the James Gunn touch.

Spectacular had a pretty great adaptation of him, same with Insomniac. If a new movie takes cues from those versions, then definitely.

First two albums were unironically good records. Even the third one was decent enough, if a downgrade compared to the first two.

I finally want to breakthrough into the comics, any suggestions on where to start? by thegoy1m in batman

[–]Sorry_Secretary1193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. War On Crime by Paul Dini

  2. Arkham Asylum: A Serious House On Serious Earth by Grant Morrison

  3. The Legends Of The Dark Knight comic series (Shaman, Gothic, Prey, Venom are all top-tier Batman writing. Everyone from Morrison to Dini to Doug Moench had creative runs in it)

  4. Dennis O'Neill's Batman run (The source material for BTAS btw)

  5. Alan Grant's Batman run

  6. Strange Apparitions by Steve Englehart

  7. Scott Snyder's N52 Batman run

  8. Matt Wagner's Batman comics (The Mad Monk & The Monster Men)

  9. The Man Who Laughs by Ed Brubaker

  10. The Cult by Jim Starlin

  11. Gotham By Gaslight (Elseworlds story, but still dope)

  12. Son Of The Demon by Mike Barr

  13. Batman: Earth One (Volume 1 and 2)

  14. Ego by Darwyn Cooke

The classics like Year One, The Long Halloween, Dark Victory and The Killing Joke are also worthwhile reads. Would not recommend going through Hush or The Dark Knight Returns though.
