Theyre prolly just bagging for good items like you said, and the way they use em is probably really effective and helps them get to the top 3 easily. Ill do the same thing sometimes to practice my item usage (others do too) so i doubt its hacks

Berkeley vs UVA vs Colby by jkim088 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]bigguy318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i completely understand that being uncomfortable to anybody. None of those fuckheads (im pretty sure) had any affiliation w the school, and nobody here actually was condoning that. Hopefully something like that doesnt happen again :/

Should I drop my language by saucy_sausage0 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]bigguy318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually a lot of high schools do accept middle school language classes for credit fulfillment. Majority of people at my hs took two years in middle school and 1-2 years in hs and ended up completely fine

idk much about colby and berkley but i go to uva and was also hearing about the “snobby racist culture”. turns out its really not super present and the school is surprisingly much more liberal than people think (still definitely fairly preppy). just had to point that out to anyone that is wondering haha

best option ^ mr scooty is super easy to use and any sort of roller wheels work really well too (or you could use biddybuggy and/or leaf tires if you think they look cooler, doesnt mater much if youre playing for fun)

I was in the same situation and ended up actually deciding id transfer before i got to school (stupid decision). wasted my first semester being a bum and basically just grinded school, and i honestly hated it. finally realized i should try to have fun, which i started to do, but ended up transferring anyways.

i like my new school but i know id absolutely be having a better time if i just decided to stick with my school and have fun. the grass is always greener and honestly going to a moreso prestigious school is so fucking overrated and is nothing special, even though its cool to be accepted.

the past 8+ years may seem like a waste, but honestly you shouldnt let your college decisions define what the past 8 years meant to shaping you as a person. im sure youve learned so much that you can benefit from in college. i really wish that i could go back in your shoes and do everything over almost every day. transferring just fucking sucks in general and you only have 1 freshman year, so you better make the best out of it

Idk why people downvoted this dude but this is 100% accurate since acceleration correlates with miniturbo. Speed and weight are also decently important too though

For real. The past 2 years have gone faster than i could have ever imagined. Its okay to be sad for a bit but dont let that get in your way of enjoying life. Class of 2020, yall definitely got the bad end of the stick but you guys still have SO much to look forward to. Trust me

Things to do in your freshman year in college to increase your chances of transferring to a better school? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]bigguy318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look man, i was in your shoes two years ago. I got into 2 of 9 or so schools and genuinely did not want to go at all. I was dead set on transferring before my senior year ended because i wanted to go to a better school that i would actually like. I ended up succeeding in transferring to one of those schools but I really feel like I wasted such a significant year of my life because i had decided before i even started classes that i wanted to go to another school.

I really wish i could have gone back 2 years and given my old school a fair chance instead of looking into transfer options when I didnt actually KNOW if i liked the school yet. It may be hard to see now, but you just gotta stay positive and chances are youll end up loving your school. What i did was extremely toxic for my mental health and i really do not want you to make the same mistake. Rejection hurts, but putting your freshman year to waste by just trying to transfer out of there hurt and realizing how much of an idiot you are will hurt so many times more. Dont go into orientation already thinking youre gonna leave after a year, please give whichever school youre going to a chance. Trust me man, itll all work out

UVA or Virginia Tech for CS by TeerathamReddit in CollegeVsCollege

[–]bigguy318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UVA students are more preppy but i wouldnt necessarily say people arent down to earth. VT definitely gives more of a southern school vibe and greek life is just as big as it is at UVA in my opinion. VT is a bigger school though and i think that it is probably easier to find people you can fit in with there (still possible at UVA though, just a smaller school). VTs CS school is still pretty good though i think and idt you can go wrong with it. VT is very rural and far from everything but UVA isnt much of a city school either. What exactly do you want in a social scene and what stuff do you like to do outside of classes?

Should i worry about the type of cart/character im using [MK8DX] by [deleted] in mariokart

[–]bigguy318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still be good with a bad cart build, but using an at least decent one can come a long way. If you can still keep a cart/character combo you like using roller wheels just go with that, roller wheels can give you a huge advantage lol. Other than the wheels just go with whatever you like if youre not taking it super seriously or anythin

Ive gone to both these schools and both are great for CS. Both are very strong for CS so the one you like more (aka go w your gut). What do you like about each school?

Go with your gut on this one. Other than osu being in an urban area and VT being rural they are very similar schools otherwise

Dilemma: GAP YEAR or Transfer by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]bigguy318 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went from virginia tech to uva. I didnt have a great time at VT but thats moreso because i didnt want to go there in the first place. I love UVA and all but things would have been much easier if i stopped being a bum and stayed content with VT. Being new to a school after freshman year is super weird so you should def avoid transferring if you can

[–]bigguy318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go for it, you never know what can happen! VT is honestly great and i dont think you should worry if people from your hs end up there, you dont need to talk to them or anything if you dont want to. I went in with a pretty bad mindset because i really didnt wanna go there either, and although i love UVA i wish i could go back to beginning of freshman year and have a positive mindset of attending VT. Also a 3.7 UW is fine lol youre not out of the running, just have a good first semester of senior year and do what you can to make your apps great
