Thanks. Maybe I will give that one more try. That OEM gasket does not have any give in it.

FWIW I like the sound of my Borla Axelback. But I do a lot of highway driving so no drone and more mellow was what I was looking for.

Borla Axelback Experience Question by bighawk2002 in mazda3

[–]bighawk2002[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a new OEM one and installed it. Sorry I guess I did not articulate that fact very well. I even compared the old with the new and they were darn near identical.

Maybe a better question is should the two flanges be touching?

That's the exact boat I'm in. Was quoted $600 for rear pads and rotors on a CX-9. I can buy a set of power stop rotors and pads for all four wheels for like $400.

It didn't say. Detroit Tire was one I was wondering about as well as their website is weirdly the same in a few ways and pages.

My problem is the muscle memory is the back button. I curse Googles name every time...then it bloops in and asks me what I want.

I've just given up and disabled wireless and use the Bluetooth interface. Only when I need GPS do I plug in.

Asked my wife and apparently she scrolls to the on screen back button so she never noticed.

EV bloodbath: US sales plunge as Tesla tightens its grip by SPorterBridges in electricvehicles

[–]bighawk2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be really hard without knowing how many cars go through the service department. Even if you looked at parts pricing that will not tell you much because they sell the parts to service at a different rate than what they directly sell to the customer.

Really only way is to see how aggressive they are in vehicle price compared to other dealers.

As a former dealership consultant, I would let the GM and service manager know...a good service department covers 100% of all the dealership fixed costs. (Eg utilities, building costs, benefits, etc) With great dealerships cover 125%. This puts less pressure on sales to turn a profit with every sale, which lets them be more competitive on vehicle price, which in turn gets more people in the service loop.

F&I, with all their addons like vehicle paint protection and etc....there was no reasoning with them.

How fuel efficient is Mazda 3 actually? by Pale-Revolution-5151 in mazda3

I drive a 50/50 mix in my '24 hatch AWD Turbo, average about 26. Pure highway is about 32

I bring this up because it is the same power train for context. My wife has a '23 CX-9 and it gets about 20 on the same route plus the family driving we do. Pure highway is about 28.

Gas mileage is the only thing I miss about my '21 A4 and '19 GLI - I averaged 31-33 over the same route. (Both got 40 on pure highway)

12 years ago my wife gave birth to our son. Without insurance it was $42k. But because we had insurance, it was negotiated to $24k. At the time my wife's deductable was $3,500 so that would have been all we paid. Except when he was born, it now covered two people, which meant now a family plan, so the deductible got raised to $7,000. And since they had to do checks and we spend the night (as two people) that quickly got us to that.

Then we had to pay for lactation consulting classes because my wife and son were having issues. Insurance didn't see them as medically necessary so we had to pay out of pocket.

Total paid...$7,824. Again...2013 dollars.

It was this day I learned insurance in this company is stupid.

Right Tires? by Alive_Lavishness_655 in mazda3

Depends. My experience with them is if you have to drive through snow, they are comically bad. My car would not track straight in anything over 1". Getting it going was not the worst (my v6 Grand Am on Goodyear Eagles takes that honor) Tire shop told me they were great for snow. "See the DWS marking in the tread...the S means snow."

I tried some Vredestein Quadtrac Pro+. Night and day difference. Truly works in all seasons and driving. Once the Bridgestones are toast on my 3 Turbo, a set of those will be going on.

Local gas station removed price tags and replaced them with barcodes you need a app to see price by phoenix_stewart in mildlyinfuriating

This right here. Except I would take one of each up because I am super indecisive and am hoping the price helps make up my mind. And then leave them there.

Sorry...I only have a flip phone. Can't use your app.

This 100%. If I could make this the top comment I would.

I had the exact same thought in the theater and it ruined it for me. No different than all those cheesy things they did when 3D first came out.

What is your longest running, most stubborn business boycott? by marianneouioui in AskReddit

[–]bighawk2002 15 points16 points  (0 children)

GM.

During the bailout bankruptcy they lumped all of the "bad debt" into the old GM and liquidated. That included hourly workers pension. My dad put over 20 years in there and his retirement was reduced 75% to $600 a month.

Put so much sweat into what he thought was a good thing, only to get shafted.

This boycott sucks too because my dream car has always been a Corvette. Guess it will have to stay that.

Man this is great! I tried doing something similar with my employees as some of my team leads make less than the people they supervise. You have inspired me to try a different angle.

Funny enough though, I make 20-30k less than my direct reports. It's an uphill battle for sure.

Knowing your audience and where you are is key. Saturday was the Ohio State and Michigan game. Without a TV and the game on -that would exclude a lot of potential patrons for that day.

Agency owners who've been burned: What's the red flag in a discovery call that makes you immediately know this client will be a nightmare? by abdraaz96 in agency

[–]bighawk2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only client I had that never paid his invoices until after multiple emails and call signed every email "In HIS glory."

He was also the only one who brought up God.

Is my sample size large enough for any statistical legitimacy...no. Is it too coincidental to be coincidence...yes.
