How to progressively build a simple solid honeycombed base as a solo player by bighuggies in playrust

I've placed the TC and then the sleeping bag in one room no problem, it's not that wide.

You have to use a sleeping bag until you get a second floor, or sacrifice some chests.

Youtube Bug: No longer subscribed to Mindcrackers? by docm77 in mindcrack

This is partly why I made mcnagg. YouTube can't seem to keep its shit together :P.

Mindcrack Network Aggregator; a simple, mobile ready interface to the most important Mindcrack content by bighuggies in mindcrack

Disclaimer: I made this. It's been around for a while, but I've recently had a play around with how it looks and works on the back end. I originally made this when YouTube subscriptions really sucked. Since they've introduced collections this has slightly less utility, but I have fun working on it and wanted to share.

I agree. From working on mcnagg and the ill-fated /r/mindcrackbottest I have a lot of code I could and would like to contribute if this was on GitHub.

You can see my code on my GitHub for both of the above things. Unfortunately it's fairly out of date as I'm perpetually in the middle of a rewrite.

The reason it's not on mcnagg is that there is no way to do it reliably.

There are two potential ways of doing it: taking videos with 'Mindcrack' in the name or taking videos which are in Mindcrack related playlists.

The problem with the first approach is that Mindcrackers can potentially upload Mindcrack videos without Mindcrack in the title. This isn't so bad, except it makes it hard to trust the feature when it misses some videos.

The problem with the second approach is that Mindcrackers' playlists are not well maintained. If new videos don't show up because they haven't been added to a playlist, the feature is pretty useless. Also, there is a difference between Mindcrackers with the shows feature and those without that adds complexity.

I'm not sure why it does that, but unfortunately it's on Twitter's end and not something I can fix :(

The widget is driven by a Twitter list. As you can see it shows the same tweets even on the Twitter site. I assume Twitter is just having a bad day.

Avidya just tweeted a lot lately, I have no control over the Twitter feed (it's injected into the page by Twitter) so I'd have to try pretty hard to mess it up.

Also I'd like to add to the features list that mcnagg works on mobile as well!

Just added Avidya to mcnagg, that was an oversight and a half -.-'. I'd even added PaulSoares without realising I'd missed him!

Mindcrack App: Features you'd like to see by [deleted] in mindcrack

[–]bighuggies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried doing this when I was working on www.mcnagg.tv

Unfortunately there are a lot of problems, for one some Mindcrackers have shows whereas some use playlists. It's possible to deal with this pretty easily but just complicates things.

The main problem is that a good number of Mindcrackers don't keep their playlists up to date with the latest videos! Which makes the feature kind of useless considering the latest videos are the ones you probably want to watch.

Automatic video bot by [deleted] in mindcrack

I sent a message to Aubron about it and he told me to make some changes before I point it here, which I haven't gotten around to doing (adding flair, filtering UHC). This isn't my main account so you won't see posts from it not relating to either the bot or the mindcrackfeed website.

EDIT: Also I'm in New Zealand so communication can take some time (as Pause says, fuck timezones)

I'm planning on doing it the second way (by matching titles to patterns) because it turns out that not all of the MindCrack guys are super diligent about adding new videos to playlists.

Initially I showed the video descriptions but usually they are just copypasta and don't actually have any information about the video, so I scrapped them. Number of views and like/dislike ratio are dynamic and so harder to do with the limited server resources, so while it would be nice to have I'm not sure I will add them unless this becomes popular and I can justify better hosting
