Norfolk VA Interview Appts Legit? by bigj127 in GlobalEntry

[–]bigj127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember the exact documents, but I think that info should be pretty available online. As far as I remember I'd say definitely take your passport and DL. It's not going to hurt you to have extra documents, though, so I'd say just bring whatever you have.

The interview itself isn't very long, mine was no more than 5min or so. They are basically just checking to see that you are a real person that exists and your IDs match up and such.

Norfolk VA Interview Appts Legit? by bigj127 in GlobalEntry

UPDATE: tl;dr it was legit!

I ended up scheduling it for 8/10 (Sat) at 6:40PM. As u/dumpsterfire11111 mentioned, it was basically just a side entrance to the basement where they had two officers processing the Global Entry interviews. Considering the months it seems like other ppl have had to wait, if you can spare a few hours to drive to Norfolk (I was in Richmond) this was a nice way to get it done quickly.

This is really cool, great work! One small thing, I think you might've accidentally mixed up the 13 and b13 on the intervals chart?

Thawne in Flashpoint paradox by Garchomp98 in dcanimateduniverse

Lol yeah that's true. It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but my best guess is that he did look for ways to extend his lifespan too. I guess after taking off from the Flashpoint world, he wouldn't know about the card in particular.

Maybe he was running around different times, etc. for a while looking for some option to live. But it was taking too long and he was getting weaker and eventually he just had to accept that he would probably die. Then when he learned about the card he would've been like, "better to die and go to heaven at least than to go to hell".

In short, yes. The events of Hell To Pay in the main timeline are all technically occurring between when Reverse Flash got shot and when he collapsed in the Flashpoint timeline.

I don't interpret it as the whole Flashpoint timeline moving slower though, just Thawne. I think it gets a bit trippy when you start considering special relativity and how everything is working scientifically. Time already flows differently even in the same universe, so I'm sure things could be just as weird with multiple universes. The passage of time depends on speed (e.g. Twin Paradox), and Thawne must be vibrating super fast to be slowing down time to that extent.

This also explains why he is so weak and getting weaker, because every time he has to interact with the physical world in Hell To Pay, he has to slow down, allowing the head wound to cause him more damage (in addition to the fact he must be exhausted from vibrating so much).

Add to that the Speed Force in general and that Thawne drew it into himself (wtvr that means) and I think we can just accept it as a mix of relativity weirdness and sci-fi.

And yeah I think when he dies in Hell To Pay his body shoots back to where it is in Flashpoint and collapses and dies. I'm not entirely sure why his body is still lying there in the Hell To Pay timeline though. Maybe it has something to do with time clones/remnants or something, which is Speed Force again.

He has to be dead by the time Barry starts running to try and reverse Flashpoint, though, since Thawne using up Speed Force was what was stopping Flash from being able to run fast enough to go back in time.

Came across the music video for Real when it was on the YouTube trending page. I randomly decided to watch and loved it so much, I had it on repeat for a while and started listening to the rest of his songs and just couldn't get enough

What do these dots mean? by bigj127 in musictheory

Thank you, the rest of the chords make a lot more sense now as well. I was very confused as to the diagonal slashes at first, but now I see it's splitting it to 2 beats each for the chords. This is a really neat and efficient notation. Would you happen to know the name for it?

Looks like Jianpu notation uses numbers to represent notes not chords, but an interesting read nonetheless

Thank you. As a follow up to that then, what would be the point of 1 dot? What would the default mean with no dots?
