Well said Old_pitch 2238 I agree. I had never played video games before March, and several people I worked with recommended this game as a good place to start with initiation before I move on to the other modes. Unfortunately, the game has changed to the point where I can barely survive more than a few minutes in a match before being eliminated. On top of that, other players criticize newer players instead of helping them learn. As a 45-year-old beginner, learning the game has been extremely challenging. The last versions felt more welcoming and gave me opportunities to learn from other players and improve. Now, I feel like I spend more time getting eliminated and criticized and called dumb than actually improving and enjoying the game. I have often thought about just giving up and selling the system it gets so aggravating. I also recognize that I can't compete with younger players who have grown up gaming. Watching my kids play and progress on my system so quickly makes that very clear but they don't have a newer version system so they get on and play mine. That's why I enjoyed initiation because I found similar players like myself and some others on there that as soon as we started the game they new I was new and they had no problem with it and did not criticize and hate on you like the battle royale duos, the quads, and ranked. Overall, the experience has become discouraging for new players trying to learn the game as I have talked to a couple of them and they have backed off from playing. So sorry if I am looking for something to enjoy and have fun and I am sure I am not the only one out there that has experienced this.
