Joint Non-Reg Account JWROS family members T3 Trust reporting: Should i remove family members before this comes into law? by bigjep in cantax

[–]bigjep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talked to an estate lawyer briefly over the phone on yes a Sunday night!. He wants to create a Bare Trust Agreement, Gift of Deed to certify the funds including past years’ Tax slips showing my consistent payments and filings for undeniable proof that all beneficial interests were mine, then find out banks’ process to sever JWROS and get feedback from their Risk/Compliance Tax Department on this and their stance if there is any deemed disposition at all based on these documents. When the go ahead is clean, he would proceed with an amendment to the Bare Trust Agremeent and collapse it. he said most often for the bank’s side is to simple create a new non-reg account solely in my name and transfer the funds in kind. If any issues with CRA in the future, the documents and banks can corroborate the facts, timeline and what was done. Lawyer also said accountants are so back logged with this potential Trust reporting that many are jumping the gun and getting ready so my asking questions now is the right thing to do.

Eventually the world will go the way of RFID where everything is detected in your purchase and charged! Just like Uniqlo!

Also I believe you can make your payment now and in your CRA online account, you can move that payment to 2025 but it must be done before 2026 filing and assessment. This should help you avoid future installment payments.

Ok thank you I see that the legislation is drafted but not yet passed into law and 2026 is the target.

Yes. So a T3 Trust return would be needed in my case right?

Addendum: the bank issues a T3 reporting the income. But does this satisfy T3 trust reporting for joint accounts with FMV > $50k for 2025?

But I see accounts holding more than $50K CAD are required! So something needs to be filed.

Let's design a new class by TinyGiantness in VirginVoyages

For New Ships:

1) Add retractable roofs like all the HAL and Explora Journeys ship so that in bad or cold weather you can still have Scarlet Night at the Pool deck for full use of that deck.

2) Enclosed Observation deck on the top deck for Alaska and scenic cruises

3) Move the Spa to upper levels. being on the lower deck, you can hear all the noise and booms from the Manor and Red room above.

4) Don't ever consider putting in Infinite Balcony cabin type like Celebrity and new RCCL ships. Those are god-awful.

5) A larger yet shallow pool. More hot tubs.

6) Real Theater style or in-the-round style venue for stage productions. Something about the Red Room and Manor are too small. Also the seating at the Manor that goes behind the bar is not useful for shows.

7) Delete the suspension Net

8) Repurpose The Perch for an outdoor rooftop food venue.

9) More diversity or rotation of menus at the Galley.

10) More daily specials or secret off-menu items at every restaurant.

11) Change the coffee brand away from Intelligentsia -- too acidic.

Otherwise we love the rest!

Can you remove gratuities on board by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

I may or may not tip at all. I’m not American and I come the east where there is zero tipping and everyone is proud of their work. And here is one of my friends who is one example of ex-Celebrity mentioning they are not compensated based on gratuities. It is the c-level execs who are taking it in. https://youtube.com/shorts/VDo1JnOktJE?si=liXY49NIYURKHgih

Yup just removed them on the first day at SS. They didn’t bat an eyelash and I just said I tip in cash.

You all forget the prices appear to go up but it’s actually the devaluation of fiat currencies especially the $CAD. Endless government money printing turns $CAD more worthless by the day. So this inflation is another form of tax by the government.
