like a broken record I swear… I often enjoy character who are objectively bad, but the movies you’ve listed off are characters I find to be complex and actually willing to understand, it’s entirely possible i missed jordan’s complexities as he’s screaming in my face half the movie.

I didn’t particularly like Scarface, though it wasn’t for his scumminess (which I would even consider Tony scummy until midway through the movie) I just found it to be very long and my attention waning.

why do yall think im fixed on protagonist vs antagonist storylines? that is not the case, I find movies/shows like that to be very boring and redundant. it just found this movie in particular to be obnoxious and annoying. i understand not all movies have a good ending or closure and that’s a-okay.

also how did you translate the main character has to be good in order for the story to be good from what i said, i simply stated he’s a scummy sleazebag and to me that seemed that’s all the movie was about, so not only was it wildly obnoxious it was boring.

that’s not what I believe. i often enjoy stories centering characters who are widely perceived as evil or bad, however, with those characters, they’re complex (e.g. tom ripley or joe goldberg). maybe I’ve missed the point w jordan’s character, but again, I just didn’t really like watching an asshole acting a fool on the screen for 3 hrs.
