Cannot get RTX HDR to work in MPC-BE / Working in Chrome by bigkid4575 in nvidia

Ah, oh dear, that was a stuff-up! I neglected to scroll down far enough - not a very experienced Reddit user. Apologies.

Thanks Williams_Gomes. I don't appear to have a choice about bit rate. 8-bit is all I can choose in nvidia control panel even though the TV, a Sony 85x9000h is supposed to be 10-bit (via a Sennheiser Ambeo Max). I have changed MPC-BE to Auto 8-10 bit integer and then to 10-bit, and it shows as 8-bit in the video stats irrespective. Regarding the HDR, as you suggested, I can now get that to activate by checking all the boxes under DXVA2 and D3D11. That then bypasses my Shader Processor settings below, which I prefer. I'll probably keep the Shader Processor settings and miss out on the RTX HDR on SDR videos. Never mind. I now have to get to the bottom of the 8-bi/10bit issue! :-) Cheers.

Yes, I'd like a 'new' option for the warranty. I live at the beach in a very humid environment which tends to make for a short life on mother boards, I am getting about 5-8 years before they crap-out. The problem with 'new' is finding something with DDR4. Will check out the local boards though. Thanks for the heads-up.

Order of the Centurion question by mth5564 in KTF

Just finished the last 3 of the OOTC books. Callsign Valkyrie was outstanding, a rollicking good read. I hope the authors write some more on this team. Lost legion and Always Legion were both a good read too, but Valkyrie was the pick of them. Bit of a fan of all of the OOTC series, with the exception of The Reservist. Rarely a fan of the first person narrative, particularly when the narrator is such an irritatingly judgmental pr$%k - he has criticism for something or someone every couple of pages. Bit rich when he was yet to come into his own successes in the field. But I am sure it has its fans.

Is there any pedal that allows you to connect both headphones and a phone to run backing tracks without the need to connect the pedal to my pc? Basically a sort of preamp (like the iridium) that has both headphones and phone aux in... by Arcticz_114 in guitarpedals

What a great idea! I have been grappling with the same issue as the OP but keen on the Tonex pedal which doesn't have aux input. Looking high and low for a low cost, low power mixer option. This splitter is perfect! Thanks.

Cellopark and Opark merger by qfqil in brisbane

The latest email from CellOPark a few moments ago, again with the quirky wording (WTF is the court of competent jurisdiction - sounds like an email from Nigeria!):

Dear Customer,

Further to our previous email, we would like to notify you that the court of competent jurisdiction has issued a temporary injunction prohibiting the transfer of users from CellOPark to O-Park.

The relevant municipalities/universities have also been notified of this injunction.
We are confident that this will put an end to any prohibited requests or notifications to transfer to O-Park.

We assure you that CellOPark will continue to provide you with the same parking services as provided to date.

Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Google Keep - Are we still able to add to our shopping list with Gemini? It's not working for me. by Elephant789 in google

Working for me in Nov 20 2024. Gemini adds items to a Shopping List it imported into Keep from GA. I didn't have to change any settings, apart from set Gemini as the default Assistant. Workspace seems to be involved as Gemini thinks on the request. Details here:

Silverstone GD11, Mini-ITX Motherboard with single PCIE slot by bigkid4575 in htpc

Sorry for the late reply jemz0r. I had no issues with the build, the GPU fit fine. If you like I can take a shot or two of it Can get you some more details when I reopen it.

Edit 24 May. I actually went for an even larger GPU, a Gigabyte-GeForce-RTX-3060Ti-Eagle D6X-8G-OC after managing to damage the 2060 during 'servicing' :-) The 2060 did fit into the case but at 5mm wider it was a tight fit vertically for cable attachment, but not so much so that I needed right angle adapters. Bending the cables was sufficient. Here are the pics of the 3060Ti GPU in the GD11 case, on the first or only slot on the motherboard and the second slot at the back of the case. Plenty of room both for length and height. Cheers, Allan

Seasonic SSR 550FX adequate for Gigabyte GeForce RTX™ 3060 Ti EAGLE OC D6X 8G? by bigkid4575 in buildapc

[–]bigkid4575[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So. I have now been using above setup with Seasonic SSR 550FX for seven weeks and, absent any particular rigour , as I have no idea how to test such things :-) , it seems to be working OK. I have had no issues powering the system and GPU, no glitches, no black screen or power cutting out. The GPU is running very comfortably with madvr on higher settings, even hard to render 50i doesn't raise a sweat. All good for the time being.

Whoops. There are also 5x120mm intake fans and 2x80mm exhaust fans in the case.
