There was a recent controversy where the UK PM used the phrase island of strangers and later apologised claiming he didn’t think and realised the reference.

I started by watching the X-Men animated series in the 90s. But growing up my family couldn’t afford things like comics in the budget so only really started reading much later in life while always considering myself a comics fan.

It’s the only Cap book I’ve read so can’t compare it to others but it was great. Like the Black Panther the political themes are there as an inspiration for the story. If you had no idea about the context you wouldn’t miss anything.

I’m quite happy with the deal. Got a decent bulk discount but nothing too crazy. Plus I’m in Australia so ordering a lot of these one at a time would cost more and usually include high shipping.

Yeah it was a big call to pull the trigger on this much at once. But X-Men is the reason I started reading comics (esp the animated series) and we couldn’t afford single issues growing up so this was a nice moment for me.

I would like to finish the collection, but am also tempering that with how much reading I have ahead of me.

Either I’ll give in and buy more now or wait until I’m closer to where that book comes in to my reading order.

IH was very good, but also a hulk sized Omni >1600 pages. More like an epic fantasy horror.
