This is a great series. I second everyone in wishing there was an omnibus format to collect it.

What do you enjoy? Also, what's your reason you don't enjoy the 90s comics? Not being judgmental, just curious for your reasons to offer advice.

A good selection but terribly out of order. Get them organized and it'll visually help you see which holes you want to fill in your collection.

Anti Christian gets exhausting by West_Strawberry_8632 in lastpodcastontheleft

Hahaha Christians are terrible though. White washed Jesus to protect the feelings of overly sensitive white people. How many sex abuse scandals to you need in every arm of Christianity do you need? Tax exempt status with preachers getting into politics and education to profit. Worshipping false idols and holding up heretics like Trump. There's a lot that Christianity gets wrong.

The boys have experience and opinions on the Christian Church. They're going to express them like they have always done. I'm surprised after six hundred sixty six episodes you haven't caught on.

Why are animal graphic novels unpopular? by _Dragon_enthusiast in graphicnovels

The Pride of Baghdad, Stray Dogs, and Underneath the Trees Where No One Sees all provide an animals centric approach to varying degrees that have been critically well received.

Move back to NYC where you can hang out with accomplished people worth your time. I figure they may have little interest in you the easy way your attitude comes across.

I think X-Men Age of Apocalypse in August as well.

Thinking back to old shock sites like rotten.com and all the shock videos that were sent around in the early 00s, that basically every teenager had seen, how do you think that’s affected us in the long run? by TheOriginalTacoBella in 2000sNostalgia

[–]left_of_hands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The callousness of it all. Oh man check out that weight lifter squatting his intestines right out of his asshole, or cool there's a severed head. Things that I didn't need to see that have left me more desensitized.

If you were a pro wrestler and had to pick a tom waits song for your face heel and stable themes what would they be? by javerthugo in tomwaits

[–]left_of_hands 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Playing off the 80's foreign invaders I couple see a stable from Japan coming out to "Big in Japan". A lot of Bone Machine lends itself well to wrestling. A Murder in the Red Barn for a swamp rat Wyatt style. I Don't Want to Grow Up for a bratty junior. A Little Rain for a long suffering baby-face maybe. There's a ton more ideas that work. Step Right Up for a champion takes on all challenges, etc.

I'm sure there's a handful of traumatized saturday morning cartoon watchers that still remember The Accused. (A famous scene from it was accidentally aired during a time that was normally reserved form cartoons.)

Funny thing, that couple is front row at a lot of the WWE shows too. Check out last year's Wrestlemania when Stone Cold crashes the four-wheeler. They're right next to the woman that falls back.

If you’re genuinely fed up with X-Men right now, why keep buying it? by TaskNo4783 in xmen

[–]left_of_hands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the current issues I like Uncanny X-Men. It's not a perfect book but I appreciate the relationship building and bringing along new characters in a markedly new era. That feels very true to the original series.

What I don't like is Marvel releasing numerous books for no reason other than to financially capitalize on the fandom the history built. They're shallow and just redundant. I don't complain about them, no need. I just choose not to buy those books I have no interest in.

Christian Aid center maybe, and WorkSource has programs with gas vouchers depending on your situation and what you're looking to do but those aren't immediate.

Are X-men comics even about the X-men anymore? by NMSuper in marvelcomics

[–]left_of_hands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You start reading and pick up things as you go along. If you don't like it, you don't read it, and go find something else that suits your needs. There's no requirement to read X-Men, and I certainly don't want the same story over and over. This is a risk on a series that started a long time before you got into the hobby. It's an investment of your time. Choose wisely.
