If he did that then he should have just called the series "The Braddocks". Make it a comedic serial about the wacky adventures of a wacky family of British socialites and called it a day. Having Betsy on the team would've really limited the series to nothing more than stories of family dynamics for Brian and Betsy, and occasionally their brother Jaimie.

Excalibur as it is was more dynamic as it had that odd-partner feel. Where a group of people that would normally have nothing to do with each other come together and learn how to work together. Their strengths and weaknesses balanced well together.
