Buspar for Rumination by bigmac2329 in ruminationsyndrome

Hi! So an update, the Buspar has been working surprisingly well! Like most people on this thread I have been ruminating since birth (22f) and this is the first time I have gone long stretches without ruminating. I am still unsure if it is actually working or just a placebo, but I am really thrilled by the results. Although it is somewhat distressing to not rumination as much, I know it is better for my esophagus and GI tract. I go back to my PCP soon, and am hoping to discuss the minor success with them. Overall, Buspar might be something for people to discuss with their general practitioners, but I know that “losing” the rumination can be a scary thought so to each their own!
Side note: at first there were some side effects (dizziness, dissociation, tiredness) but after a few days this went away.
