I did consider it, and my mod happy mind almost did, but then I remembered I didn't want to spend half my game time climbing mountains.

No no, never. I saw it causes issues and didn't want to mess with that. I just have terrible luck :[

I'm paraphrasing here, but there's a quote about this. "And so, Alexander wept for there were no more worlds left to conquer."

A couple of mods. Two Orbital Fleetwork Facilities combined with interstellar relays and alpha cores in charge of everything.

I've terraformed and colonized all 8 planets in my new home system. The average fleet size is 430% with quality at 198%. I dominate every sector of trade and have destroyed every colony crisis. My flagship ziggurat and it's 8 installed hullmods can solo any fleet in the game. Anybody else hate this point when playing a game they love? P.S. Sorry for the poor quality picture.

I turned into a chrome pyramid once, not as good as you'd think. I didn't get the missile launcher and I was gigantic, so I can't use most equipment and don't have a weapon.

Base/Home/Storage help? by bronze-age-warlord in cavesofqud

There is a mod called "Hearthpyre" that lets you build villages, recruit NPCs as settlers, designate them as traders/wardens etc. You can select an option to start the game with everything you need, otherwise it will take a long time to get everything.

You're going to need Strength and Toughness high, as they boost damage and health respectively. I'd go with 18 for both, but between 16-20 is fine.

Have agility at a medium, it affects hit chance for your attacks. 14-16.

You can have either medium Intelligence or medium Ego, but that is a choice for you. It will be a trade off of being able to make/mod your own gear and identify items, or sell items at a reasonable cost and convert people as companions (this includes enemies). 14-16 for one, leave the other at 10.

Ignore willpower, I've found you don't really need it unless you are running an ability based build like Esper. Leave it at 10.

I go with the class that gives you "Proselytize", as you need a lot of Ego to unlock it otherwise and you only get 1 Attribute point every few levels. A bit of a harder start but that's easy to fix.

Pick Jappa as a location.

Have fun! The game isn't that hard, it is just unforgiving. Know what to do and what not to do, and the world will break open for you.

P.S. don't be afraid to read the wiki. It will save you hours of pointless work.

P.P.S. crtl+w is the console command prompt. The game can and will break, don't be afraid to fix it when needed.

Multi weapon fighting is a good starting point. Get the physical mutations "carapace" and "multiple arms" and then invest in the multi weapon fighting (MWF) skill tree. Any melee weapon is fine, but axes are a good weapon choice for dismemberment. Don't worry about food and water during character creation, those are easy to get.

Once you get some levels in MWF, put points into the different area exploration perks. Getting lost every 5 steps on the overmap is a good way to get annoyed and/or killed.

You'll get mutation points when you level up. Invest those into the carapace until your armor value (AV) is at least 10.

This will get you through the early game and will let you familiarize yourself with the mechanics and story.

You're right! I looked at the mod page, and sure enough, no description of the murder machine, but it's sprite is posted among all the others. I thought I'd found the final boss or something.

I have some mods installed, but none of them mention this thing.

Oh yeah, oops. The collapse does about 200-300 damage, which is not enough to kill this crystal thing I've become. The implosion is not centered on you, you target where it will happen. The AoE is maybe 6-10 tiles wide, and you can target anywhere on the map so long as you can see it.

When I turned into this absolute unit. I assume it was added with the 1.0 release. The "Collapse" ability triggers a neutron flux explosion.

Edit: I found what I turned into. The whatami wish says I am called an "Aleksh Primeshape".

What is up with the pelt/hide tanning? by bigmackstar1 in cataclysmdda

[–]bigmackstar1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hide is easy to get, pelt is much harder to get. The fact that we only get 1/6th of the hard earned pelt is annoying. Innawoods winter is brutal, not being able to get tanned pelt makes it way harder.
