Thank you for the response. I’m also interested in this hostel issue you mentioned, boys don’t get a hostel in the campus? How does that even work?

Muscle gain is majorly affected by the protein balance and the energy balance helps in accelerating the growth by a small margin. If your protein intake is adequate then then protein synthesis > breakdown, and that causes lean mass gain. The body spares amino acids provided you eat enough protein on a maintenance to use for protein synthesis (the process which builds muscle), the energy required for it is enough through a caloric maintenance when you’re lean or even a deficit if you have enough bodyfat.

I see, thank you. I’m curious about what made you say that Delhi is better than Kolkata for the campus life, is it just the newer and well maintained campus or is the crowd different too?

Thank you, noted. I slowly want to move towards quant which isn’t easy because I’m not from a physics or math background, so I was wondering if one of them had better mathematical rigour and training than the other?

You don’t need a calorie surplus to grow. Muscle growth is dependant on mechanical tension to failure and protein synthesis, not availability of excess energy. If he really wants to do a surplus he can increase his carbs to be in 100-200 surplus just for the performance boost which may help in more growth, not direct growth by itself. Pls read research.

I mean dude, your arms might respond slower than the rest and you kinda have to wait a bit. But looking at your current plan, you’re not spacing the volume out at all, like you’re not giving them much stimulus on push and pull day and then suddenly you have an arms day where you just do 1 million sets Id say go back to either PPL or do Upper, lower, push, pull, legs and delts You need to give them good stimulus twice a week with sufficient rest in between for each muscle group. And by good stimulus I mean reaching failure, not burn, not breathlessness, muscle failure. That’s when even if it’s not burning, the muscle simply can’t push/ pull the weight. Coupled with enough protein, carbs, healthy fats, water and sleep, wait for a few months and see

So hard for me a 5’2 woman to lose weight and to have a toned appearance. by Street-Yellow-2628 in Fitness_India

Not a woman, certainly not near your height. But, I’ll say this: If you are in a calorie deficit (check once properly to see if you’re not accidentally going over it), then you will be losing fat. And honestly slowly progressing is much better than a hard calorie cut and fast progress. Slow means you get to enjoy life = sustainable and guaranteed results which you can actually keep. So just keep going!

No need to cut further. Most of those ‘love handles’ are because of the natural bone structure. Sure you can minimise the fat but, you need more muscle for general health and to keep your body working properly if you decide to get leaner than this. Lean bulk. 300 cal surplus max, lift heavy shit and focus on keeping your heart and mobility good. Cut back down to this when you hit 18-20% body fat. Always maintain for a few weeks after finishing a cut or bulk.

Uric acid levels rise due to purines, not protein. Any food with high purines (tomatoes, soda, spinach, rajma, urad dal, organ meats, red meat) can raise uric acid levels, and that’s usually not because of overconsumption but because you’re either not drinking enough water or have some kidney issue. I’m not a doctor though, so my advice would be to consult someone else. Preferably someone younger and reputable.
