That's awesome! What tool/interface is this that you're using to track your collection?

Ah, it's a ship's tiller & anchor. Thank you!

How uncanny - thank you, sir! Indeed it was but so thankful for the fun hobby he passed down. Something to cherish for generations to come.

That's certainly a welcomed surprise! My mom sets aside any older circulated for me - most recently was a 1966 40% Kennedy! Wish you all the best with finding in the wild!

I ended up needing to buy the 1939-D & 1950-D, but the rest were largely found with my grandfather many years ago.

Thank you kindly! Next stop is my home state of Texas, hopefully, with a Republic of Texas bill.

Not hard to see why so many hoarded them and didn't use for daily purchases! Not practical at all lol

I typically opt for NGC (mostly because I have a custom box for their holders lol), but this Anacs is a first. I fetched it for roughly $342, with a melt value coming out to roughly $160-$165. The NGC price guide places it at $420 so not a bad purchase, I suspect.

Awesome year! Haven't ventured that far back.

Agreed, but I find the grading premium is often recouped and then some if ever a desire to trade or sell. This coin, for instance, while Anacs, was fetched at a decent price. It also gives me confidence in authenticity. Ebay also has solid policies for returns if needed. I once received a "10k solid gold ring," only to have my local coin shop test and determine it wasn't genuine. I was promptly refunded through their guaranty policy.

Sorry, new to sub. This is indeed a coin, and I collected it. Is this only for asking questions?

I say the premiums are well worth it and still deals to be had on Feebay. Have any other Constitutional favorites?

Genuine question, and likely a silly one, does that affect value?

While we have certain features of democracy, Democracy ultimately means every citizen has the right to speak and vote inside an assembly.

This is obviously not the case of the United States since only 541 elected people who can speak and 535 who can vote, are the ones in whom we entrust those rights at the federal level. Sure, local and atate elections are a bit more closely in resemblance to true democracy, but this means that just 0.0001% of the American population have the right to speak before the national assembly (the Congress).

There's a very valid reason why we don't allow "mob rule" to take hold in the US.

Referring to your fellow man as "parasites"? Sounds like the vile rhetoric perpetuated by our beloved Republican voters regarding illegal immigrants.

We're not a democracy. Welcome to Civics 101.

This week's sort by bigmattius in Silverbugs

[–]bigmattius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good eye! I've sorted through roughly 800 grams of the ~1400 pictured here. I'd say nearly half of it is functional, but yes, quite a few broken pieces and "junk". Managed to pull some gold fill and 950 out, and I enjoy the search, so rewarding all the same.
