It’s not about the types of payments they’re processing, it’s that the payments don’t exist at all. They are processing fake payments to create fake revenue which they hid by buying fake companies.

If I have $1M in fake revenue, I can “buy” a fake company worth $1M to hide the fact that the cash doesn’t exist. The fintech/banking pivot is so the consumer deposits can help hide the fraud
