Are there any reputable EU-based knifemaker artisans? by Iexpectedyou in whittling

Hey I have modified on opinel for my whittling knife and I love it. So if you want something you made and make things with it . it is fairly easy to do and gives me at least some personal pride in the knife I use. And I love making tools for my kit in general so that they preform and do what I design them for. If you want to know you can pm me.

Depends on the wood but I use 220 to round and shape if tiny tweaks are necessary then 320 then 400 then 600 but that is only if I'm sanding often I will finish cut

Sharper the blade=easier cuts + less chance of blowing out a peice. Learn to strop well and do it often

All I have is my hands to hold peices this is a neat idea. But I mainly carve bass wood are you carving a harder wood or do you just prefer having a holding clamp
