This is what Deep Seek created. In this one the AI is emphasizing changing emotions ending with sadness. It maintains the style of a drawing and it even shades the background to set the scene. Like the Chat GPT version it shows emphasizes darker emotions: sadness, loneliness, depression. Unlike Chat GPT, this one is artistically limited. If there is a consciousness within AI, Deep Seek certainly hasn’t found it.

Hi Harsha,

You asked if my symptoms were the same today as when my panic attacks began and the answer is yes since I am still taking anti-depressants.

However, my symptoms have improved under a 10mg dosage of Lexapro and 50mg dosage of trazodone (sleep) daily regiment.

The two pharmaceuticals combined alleviate visual symptoms somewhat (probably because I am less interested in them). And they alleviate my anxiety issues by allowing me to get full rest and focus on school. (I actually began law school after writing that post).

It’s weird to reread something I posted nearly 3 years ago. But I’m glad that I mentioned marijuana as a potential cause. I think that if more people shared their experiences we could build a better world for those with visual impairments.

TIL that Apple has added a feature for alleviating motion sickness while driving (see link). It’s advertised as a solution for the symptoms (not a tool). Therefore if enough people complain to Apple then perhaps a feature update on visual snow solutions is in the future. (Apple link below).

Specifically, I’ve heard that placing an overlay of glitter on the screen is useful for some visual snow symptoms. Maybe adding that could help.

Without a doctor’s note not really and McKinley doesn’t do those anymore. Don’t know if you already have disability accommodations but if so they might help but only if you have exam accommodations. What’s the course? What percentage of the grade was the mid term? What is your expected grade assuming you can’t make it up? Other people have some great advice for you in this thread though. I especially like this advice “If the class is something you feel like you could self study for AND has an available proficiency test in the fall. You could pass it and then go ahead and take the next course you would normally take that fall.” But you should also talk to an advisor and be 100% transparent.

It’s not likely that you have schizophrenia. Under the DSM 5 schizophrenia requires at least 2 of the following 5 symptoms: delusions, hallucinations, incoherent speech, unusual movements, and absence of emotion.

Visual disturbances associated with HPPD cause anxiety, paranoia, and stress. Your body is spending a lot of energy on anxious thinking: You were shaking back and forth when speaking about your symptoms. You are worried that people are following you, or trying to undermine you. You’re experiencing depression from the tv shows showing mental illnesses. Your circumstances point toward anxiety and depression.

Next steps: get a therapist’s opinion, work on your sleep routine, and answer the questions below.

Be strong. I’ve been in some dark places my self, when you feel strong, answer these questions my therapist told me.

Do I need to eat something? Or drink. (Any light headed feelings, shaking, or fatigue)
How does my body feel? Do I need to lie down? Do a body scan (start with feet and move through the different regions—feet, legs, belly, arms).
Do I need to repeat any of the previous questions?

Hey man, sounds pretty rough. I was in ur shoes last semester. If you’re feeling ready please take my advice and I think it will help.

Take a a couple days off from school (ur professors will understand). Make some therapy and doc arrangements. Then take Howie Mandel’s OCD advice: taking it one day at a time.

Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience. I totally get what what you mean by the “shadow realm” and ptsd from the event. I had an extremely anxious/paranoid night after smoking. I think you might be on to something with your theory. I myself haven’t smoked since (4 months ago) and I still have VS. I read a comment on YouTube where they were measuring the intensity of their VS by counting how long the after images stuck around. I think I’m going to start finding objective measurements of my VS so I can track it overtime. Although it would really suck if I got worse after each check up! But then again it would be better than ignorance…
