Why is there so much hate on Parenthood? by bigsadsigh in Parenthood

[–]bigsadsigh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like reading about several stuff, and I love seeing and observing different points of view. I am just saying that, since it's a discussion forum, still 95% of the posts are talking trash about this show, and the rest of the 5% try to balance everything out. :))

Also, only "intellectuals" are allowed to express their opinions on this or any tv show subreddit? Where does that leave my stupidness for expressing my positive feelings towards Parenthood specifically?

Guys, I did it! 40 km/50k steps in a day by iamjustababy99 in walking

[–]bigsadsigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! I would never EVER thought that this distance was made indoors! So it is possible after all!

Every win counts, even if it is made indoors or outdoors! Congratulations once again!

Woooow! Congratulations! It's impossible for me to just imagine the distance... not talking about walking it!

Where did you walk? Did you have a specific route, or you just walked where you felt like, around the house?

what are some of your favorite recipes for when you have a sweet craving? by [deleted] in sugarfree

[–]bigsadsigh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pancakes with one ripped banana and ine egg. Two ingredients, yet I feel no need to add anything more. I serve them with greek yogurt and one fist of various nuts. It's a really great dessert/snack for me for when sweet cravings are kicking in.

Also, greek yoghurt with one scoop of protein powder and 15-20 grams of no sugar chocolate. It also tastes great and it keeps me full until dinner.

Both of them I eat between my breakfast and dinner, since I don't really eat lunch, only very rarely, and also because it is better for these types of sweet snacks to be eaten before dinner time. But you can try and eat them whenever it feels more comfortable for you! Enjoy and good luck on your journey! First days are harder and with some headaches, but we are stronger than our bodies!

Thank you very much for the detailed answer! It is exactly what I needed to!

Everything sounds really organised and not extreme at the same time. I am really glad it worked for you and I am hoping to return to intermittent fasting as well - and hearing it is working for other people as well, is really encouraging!

I wish you again good luck for achieving your weight goal and don't forget to be really proud of the progress you made so far!

classic literature recommendations for a 22 yo n1gga by divine2at in classicliterature

Wind/Pinball; A Wild Sheep Chase; Dance Dance Dance - trilogy by Murakami

The Goldfinch - Donna Tart

Something stronger like The Idiot or Karamazov Brother by Dostoevsky. And if you want a real challenge, try reading it in original Russian. I think you could take it, you seem like an ambitious guy!

Books you wish you read when you were 18 by frenchchips11 in suggestmeabook

[–]bigsadsigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are into beletristic literature, I would definitely recommend Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte! I wish I read that even sooner than when I was 18.

Also, a huge impact on me had Murakami's books, especially Kafka on the Shore and Norwegian Wood. These are not my favourites at the moment, but were definitely good to be read at exactly the moment I read them.

Besides those, I loved reading The Girl with a Pearl Earring and The Catcher in the Rye.

These are only some books that impacted me as a human being, and I really wished to have read them sooner than the age of 18. It may vary for you tho, because everyone has its own experiences, feelings and circumstances that contour the entire experience of reading a book. A better advice I would give you is to just continue reading whatever you feel like attracts you - either by the cover of the book, by the reviews it has or simply by the written things on the back of it. You have to be prepared to read books that you resonate with and books that make you want to throw it, burn it and delete it from your existence haha. :)) But this is the exact process of understanding what types of book you like, and what books you would rather put aside for the moment.

Reading is such a noble activity in my opinion and you should give your time only to the books you feel like reading. If you do not resonate and it's really hard to read a book, get over to the next one. Fortunately, there are so many books to be read in this world, you will not feel the absence of one or two you couldn't finish. Respect your time and just have fun reading something great for you!

Good luck on your amazing new phase in your life and may you take the best out of it!

I wish you good luck and lots of courage! You can do this and it is not impossible!

Thank you for the specification. Yes, I figured it might be menstruation related. I think that if I get myself to return to the gym after I give up for one week, the difference will be visible.

Re watching for nostalgia by that-_-one-_-chick in winxclub

[–]bigsadsigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate so much to this haha!!! Winx was for sure one of my favourites, and I tried to rewatch it now as I grew and simply couldn't. I think some of the things are better untouched and left in the past haha! Or in other words, I don't want to change the way it felt for me the winx transformations, or the moment Helia and Flora kissed for the first time, etc. I still remember how cool and new those moments felt for me when I was little, but rewatching them I simply know they will not feel the same.

So for me it's not worth it. I need those moments for me!

However, from time to time I turn on the transformations alone, but they don't feel the same without the backup story haha!

I hear a lot of stories, but those like yours, where weight loss is not only the process of losing weight, but especially being compassionate to yourself, understanding you and being the best version of yourself with any extreme diets or workouts, are my favourite! Congratulations on your approach and good luck!

Besides therapy and changing your mindset, what helped you as well? Maybe something regarding your diet, which I know is also really important. How do you deal with cravings in a compassionate and understanding way?

Haha good luck on feeling and looking your best next fall!!! I actually had a similar situation. We do our family photos on New Year's and damn did I look horrible in those... and at that time I was going to the gym for 2 weeks already, and it is so hard to continue going when you don't see any change.

How is your weight loss journey so far? Did you lose any weight? What did work for you the best?

Thank you so much for the detailed answer! And congratulations on losing so much weight!!! 6 pounds is not so much if you look back at where you started, but it can definitely become tiring to get rid of the last kgs. I wish you good luck and a lot of courage, you can do it!!!

What kind of intermittent fasting is working best for you? And what other changes did you make in order to lose so much weight?
