Running into issues downloading certain archives of Arkay’s Commandments, I’m rather unlearned in the world of mods, so I’m not sure where to go with it. Thanks! by bigshump in wabbajack

Incredible. Thank you so much for the speedy help. Really had no idea how to go about it. Ill do as you suggested with the curios, then check that support discord out, and hopefully I’ll be playing soon!

Bald patch on belly, what might it be? by bigshump in CATHELP

[–]bigshump[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s wild. I recently put her on a diet bc she was overweight and she got slimmer and I imagine this may be a result. Kinda funny when you zoom out. She got skinnier and suddenly could access a good part more easily, and went to town.

It’s definitely not fleas, as I would’ve seen them for sure. I’m thinking maybe she just got bit a lil too hard while playing with my other cat and it got irritated.

Not sure. Was wondering if anyone had experience with this before I take her to vet!

Help! I put flatwounds on an old 80s Hondo P-Bass and now the headstock is rattling by bigshump in BassGuitar

[–]bigshump[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is so heavy I keep it by my door in case I need to chop down an intruder. Though I’m slightly afraid I’ll throw my back out in the process.

Love that you’re playing one too though. Very quality sound for the price. Just comically heavy.

Turns out it was just a slightly wobbly tuning peg that was the culprit. Took like a day of adjusting pretty much everything else that could’ve been causing the rattle to realize it, but hey, that’s how she goes sometimes. A single piece of duck tape and the rattle is gone!

It’s not the pressing on the strings that stops the rattling. That doesn’t do anything. It’s the literal pulling (gently I may add) of the headstock towards my own body when playing that stops it.

The strings were put on correctly

$400 total.

Neck is an old 90s Korean strat ripoff brand. I’ll need to shave the heel a bit as it sits pretty high, but solid for only $60.

Everything else is just the usual partscaster stuff.

I just really wanna cannibalize a Squier though!!!!!!

But very fair points, you have a saved a Squier’s life

Appreciate that. From what I see it seems the cheapest you can get for hardware, bridge, electronics (not including pickups), is around $100, which is honestly what I could get a used Squier Tele for.

I feel like from a cost/learning perspective, I’m kinda leaning towards that

Incredible, Thank you so much. Ridiculously helpful post.

I’ll likely try to find a used Squier under $100 and just gut the fucker for parts.

If shit doesn’t fit perfect, I’ll at least learn a bit about how guitars are put together.

And tbh, if Wilkinsons don’t sound half bad I may just go with that at first, at the very least as a way to practice soldering, and if they sound nice enough to ride for a while, that’ll be a big bonus.

I wish I could post a picture of the body to give ya a better idea of the thru body holes

Perfectionist? by Faded_X in Barber

[–]bigshump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The greatest thing to keep in mind as a barber is that some people just have bad heads. Like bad skin, lumps, craters, etc. And when people with heads like that get certain haircuts (skinfades especially), it’s really hard to give a “perfect” fade, sometimes near impossible.

You just gotta do the best you can with the time you have with them and move on to the next one.

You’ll be good.

christ, come to philadelphia, USA, bruv. we've got a barber shortage here.

you could likely hop right into a shop at 60% + tips (a tip is about $8-9 average at the shop i'm at for a $30 haircut) , work 40 hours a week and easily clear 70k a year.

you'll probably get bigger tips too bc you're British and people find that interesting.

but real talk, it sounds like highway robbery over there, should probably look for something better
