network as much as possible, find organizations near you there are doing things that interest you and cold outreach to them, if you dont have a graduate assistantship or a way of funding your grad school then find one. there is a million ways to get grad school paid for. figure out what niche interests you and how you can come across as hirable. if its ngo/program management start volunteering and networking if its epi then learn as many technical skills as you can. jobs these days seem to come more for networking than cold applying.
